Improve the takeoff
A typical trainer rotates in the mid-50s of knots - a 172 at around 55 KIAS, climbing out at a Vy in the low 70s, though check your own POH rather than memorising Cessna's numbers - and the transferable rule is that Vr sits just above the stall speed in takeoff configuration. Rotate early because "it felt ready" and the aircraft lifts off inside ground effect, where induced drag is reduced, then climbs out of it into more drag. On a marginal-performance day the result is an aircraft that lifts off and then refuses to climb, sagging back towards the runway.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 1,786 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 234 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Departing from Cotswold Airport (EGBP), the ICP Savannah S I-C019 began its takeoff roll on runway 08. The aircraft accelerated smoothly, reaching liftoff speed of 40 kt in a distance of 871 m, which accounted for 54% of the available runway length. The local weather conditions were favorable, with a temperature of 15 °C and a gentle wind of 1 kt from 269°, resulting in a negligible crosswind component.
Following a brief enroute level cruise phase, which lasted approximately 1 minute and covered less than 1 nm, the aircraft began its final approach to runway 26 at EGBP. The approach was initiated from the east, with a heading of 260.0° and an altitude of 54 ft above ground level. The aircraft touched down on the runway at a speed of 31 kt, with a touchdown distance of 232 m. The touchdown rate was -22 fpm, indicating a smooth and controlled descent. The runway touchdown alignment was also very good, with the aircraft aligning perfectly with the runway centerline.
The ICP Savannah S I-C019 taxied to a stop after a total landing distance of 397 m, which accounted for only 25% of the available runway length. The runway rollout alignment was also very good, indicating a high degree of control and precision during the landing phase. The total flight distance was 2 nm, and the aircraft used a minimal amount of fuel, 0 kg, during the entire flight. The flight duration was 4 minutes, which was a testament to the aircraft's efficiency and the pilot's skill.
The final approach to runway 26 at EGBP Cotswold Airport from the east was executed with precision, with the aircraft ICP Savannah S I-C019 maintaining a heading of 260.0° at 0 nm and 54 ft above ground level. The approach quality was excellent, with a good threshold height allowing the pilot to maintain a stable and controlled descent. The threshold speed of 42 kt was achieved, indicating a well-executed approach.
As the aircraft touched down on the runway, the touchdown distance was good at 232 m, and the touchdown speed of 31 kt was within the acceptable range. The touchdown rate of -22 fpm was perfect, demonstrating a smooth and controlled touchdown. The runway touchdown alignment was very good, with the aircraft centered on the runway. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 15 °C and a wind of 1 kt at 270°, contributed to a stable and predictable approach.
The total landing distance of 397 m, which accounted for 25% of the runway length, was well within the acceptable range. The runway rollout alignment was very good, with the aircraft maintaining its centerline alignment throughout the rollout phase. Overall, the landing was executed with high precision, resulting in a score of 99.2%. The combination of good approach quality, controlled touchdown, and stable rollout phase made for a successful landing.
