Keep the approach speed on target
Every knot above Vref is stored kinetic energy, and energy stored at the threshold must be dissipated in ground effect before the aeroplane will stop flying. Because kinetic energy scales with the square of speed, the excess you must dissipate grows fast. At a 45-knot approach, five knots hot is over a tenth more speed and roughly a quarter more energy to get rid of in ground effect. This is why the fix is never in the flare. It was decided three miles earlier, on final, at the airspeed indicator.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,488 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 296 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Groningen Airport Eelde's runway 23 played host to the departure roll of ICP Savannah S I-C019. The aircraft accelerated down the 302-meter stretch, utilizing just 12% of the available runway, before lifting off at a speed of 45 knots. The local weather conditions were favorable, with a temperature of 15 degrees Celsius and a gentle breeze blowing at 1 knot from a direction of 270 degrees. The resulting crosswind and headwind components were negligible, at 1 knot each.
As the aircraft transitioned into the climb phase, it began to ascend into the local airspace. The flight plan was brief, with a total distance of just 1 nautical mile to be covered. The aircraft's performance was impressive, completing the flight in a mere 2 minutes. Notably, the ICP Savannah S I-C019 utilized an extremely conservative amount of fuel, with no consumption recorded during the flight.
The flight's brevity and efficiency were a testament to the aircraft's capabilities and the skill of its pilot. The ICP Savannah S I-C019 touched down smoothly, marking the end of a successful and fuel-efficient flight. The aircraft's performance figures were impressive, with a takeoff distance of just 302 meters and a liftoff speed of 45 knots. The flight's success was a credit to the aircraft's design and the pilot's expertise.
The aircraft ICP Savannah S (registration I-C019) approached runway 05 at EHGG Groningen Airport Eelde under calm conditions with a temperature of 20 °C, wind from 222° at 3 kt, a 1 kt cross-wind component and a 3 kt tail-wind component.
At the threshold the aircraft maintained a good height and a threshold speed of 29 kt, which was well below the target speed; the report notes the need to avoid a stall at this low speed.
Touchdown occurred 61 m down the runway at a speed of 28 kt with a vertical rate of minus 39 fpm. The touchdown point was offset 3.5 m from the centreline.
Rollout alignment was very good and the total landing distance measured 168 m, representing 7 % of the available runway length.
To maintain the high overall score of 94.8 %, ensure the threshold speed is kept at or above the target to reduce stall risk and refine lateral control to keep the touchdown point within a tighter centreline tolerance.
