Maintain the centreline
A small uncorrected heading error at 40 knots becomes a metre of offset per second by 100 knots, noticed only at rotation, producing a crabbed liftoff. Root cause is nearly always eyes on the tape instead of the far end of the runway. Small heading changes displace a distant point visibly long before the nearby centreline stripes look wrong.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 739 m of the approach.
Plan view — the full 739 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 158 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking area to the runway, which took 8 minutes and covered a distance of 1 nautical mile. The aircraft, a FFX P180, then departed from runway 20 at EGKA Brighton City Airport. The takeoff distance was 845 meters, which was 111% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 118 knots.
As the aircraft took to the skies, it encountered local weather conditions with a temperature of 21 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 7 knots at 349 degrees. The crosswind was 4 knots, while the tailwind was 6 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, starting overhead Lancing in West Sussex, England. It climbed from an altitude of 1,035 feet above sea level to 26,137 feet above sea level, an increase of 25,102 feet, in 15 minutes and covering a distance of 53 nautical miles.
After reaching the desired altitude, the aircraft entered a level cruise, starting 1 mile northeast of Pitton in Wiltshire, England. This phase of the flight lasted 16 minutes and covered a distance of 78 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, starting 4 miles south of Brecon in Sir Powys, Wales. It descended from 26,143 feet above sea level to 1,433 feet above sea level, a decrease of 24,710 feet, in 18 minutes and covering a distance of 82 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 25 at EGCK Caernarfon Airport was made from the east, heading 249.0 degrees at 3 nautical miles and 1,413 feet above ground level. The landing was smooth, with a touchdown speed of 116 knots and a touchdown rate of -148 feet per minute. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, and the local weather conditions were similar to those encountered during takeoff, with a temperature of 21 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 7 knots at 180 degrees.
The crosswind was 6 knots, while the headwind was 2 knots. The touchdown distance was 157 meters, which was good, and the total landing distance was 557 meters, 75% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was also perfect. After landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, which took 2 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile.
The total flight distance was 219 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 59 minutes. The aircraft used 334 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The aircraft, identified as FFX P180 03 01, successfully landed at Caernarfon Airport (EGCK) on runway 25. The final approach was initiated from the east, with the aircraft heading 249.0° at a distance of 3 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,413 feet above ground level (agl). The pilot demonstrated excellent control and precision, achieving a good threshold height and speed of 120 knots upon touchdown.
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down at a distance of 157 meters, which is well within the acceptable range for a safe landing. The touchdown speed of 116 knots was also satisfactory, indicating that the pilot had maintained control and managed the aircraft's descent effectively. The touchdown rate of -148 feet per minute (fpm) was smooth, suggesting that the pilot had successfully arrested the aircraft's descent and maintained a stable approach.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 21°C and a gentle wind of 7 knots from 180°. The crosswind component was 6 knots, while the headwind component was 2 knots. Despite these conditions, the pilot successfully aligned the aircraft with the runway and maintained a perfect touchdown alignment.
The total landing distance of 557 meters was 75% of the runway length, indicating that the pilot had successfully managed the aircraft's descent and rollout. The runway rollout alignment was also perfect, demonstrating the pilot's ability to maintain control and stability throughout the landing process. Overall, the landing was a success, with the pilot achieving a score of 98.8%.
