MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,483 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 779 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with taxiing from the parking to the runway at EGKK London Gatwick Airport, taking 10 minutes and covering 2 nautical miles. The aircraft, an Airbus A32NX, then departed from runway 26L, with a takeoff distance of 126 meters, which was 5% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 168 knots.
As the aircraft climbed, it encountered local weather conditions of 18°C temperature and a wind of 10 knots at 340°. The crosswind was 10 knots, and the headwind was 1 knot. The enroute climb started overhead Charlwood, Surrey, England, and reached an altitude of 33,955 feet above sea level, an increase of 32,717 feet from the initial altitude of 1,238 feet. This climb took 21 minutes and covered 129 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered a level cruise, starting 27 miles northwest of Saint Peter Port, Guernsey. This cruise lasted for 152 minutes and covered 1,084 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its descent, starting 84 miles northeast of LPPS Porto Santo Airport Vila Baleira, Madeira, Portugal. The descent from 33,783 feet to 20,469 feet took 3 minutes and covered 22 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise, starting 62 miles northeast of LPPS Porto Santo Airport Vila Baleira. This cruise lasted for 5 minutes and covered 25 nautical miles. The aircraft then began another descent, starting 36 miles northeast of LPPS Porto Santo Airport Vila Baleira. The descent from 20,106 feet to 13,962 feet took 3 minutes and covered 16 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise, starting 20 miles northeast of LPPS Porto Santo Airport Vila Baleira. This cruise lasted for 2 minutes and covered 6 nautical miles. The aircraft then began another descent, starting 13 miles north of LPPS Porto Santo Airport Vila Baleira. The descent from 13,527 feet to 8,296 feet took 2 minutes and covered 8 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise, starting 4 miles north of LPPS Porto Santo Airport Vila Baleira. This cruise lasted for 2 minutes and covered 7 nautical miles. The aircraft then began another descent, starting 4 miles southwest of LPPS Porto Santo Airport Vila Baleira. The descent from 7,954 feet to 2,073 feet took 5 minutes and covered 20 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise, starting 4 miles east of Canical, Madeira, Portugal. This cruise lasted for 5 minutes and covered 11 nautical miles. The aircraft then began another descent, starting 4 miles southeast of Canico, Madeira, Portugal. The descent from 1,682 feet to 401 feet took 2 minutes and covered 4 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 05 at LPMA Madeira International Airport Cristiano Ronaldo was from the southwest, heading 46.0° at 1 nautical mile and 230 feet above ground level. However, a go-around was initiated at 126 feet above ground level. The aircraft then landed on runway 05, with a touchdown point 358 meters beyond the touchdown zone. The touchdown speed was 116 knots, which was good, but the touchdown rate was fair at -204 feet per minute.
The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 7.0 meters from the centerline. The local weather conditions were 18°C temperature and a wind of 10 knots at 340°, with a crosswind of 9 knots and a headwind of 4 knots. The total landing distance was 1,260 meters, which
The Airbus A32NX aircraft successfully landed at LPMA Madeira International Airport Cristiano Ronaldo, with a score of 82.2%. The final approach to runway 05 was initiated from the south-west, heading 46.0° at 1 nm and 230 ft above ground level (agl). The aircraft touched down on the runway, which has a length of 2,483 m.
The initial touchdown was slightly above the target height at 122 ft agl, but the threshold speed was slightly below the target at 131 kt. However, the subsequent touchdown was slightly above the target height at 59 ft agl, with a threshold speed that was also slightly below the target at 127 kt. The touchdown speed of 116 kt was considered good, while the touchdown rate of -204 fpm was fair.
The touchdown point was 358 m beyond the touchdown zone, indicating that the aircraft landed slightly further down the runway than intended. The runway touchdown position was also slightly misaligned by 7.0 m from the centreline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of 18 °C, with a wind speed of 10 kt at 340°. The crosswind component was 9 kt, while the headwind component was 4 kt.
The total landing distance was 1,260 m, which accounted for 51% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was very good, indicating that the aircraft was able to maintain a stable and controlled roll-out after touchdown. Overall, the landing was considered successful, despite some minor deviations from the target parameters.
