MY FS FLIGHTS

Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,530 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 238 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 5 minutes and covered a distance of 1 nautical mile. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-800, then departed from runway 10 at SBSV Deputado Luiz Eduardo Magalhães International Airport. The takeoff distance was 1,689 meters, which accounted for 56% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 168 knots, and the local weather conditions at the time of departure were a temperature of 30 °C, with a wind speed of 8 knots at 69°.
As the aircraft climbed, it started its enroute climb 1 mile east of Lauro de Freitas, Bahia, Brazil. The climb took 20 minutes, during which the aircraft ascended from 1,053 feet above sea level to 34,932 feet above sea level, an increase of 33,879 feet. The distance covered during this period was 131 nautical miles. The enroute level cruise started 6 miles south of Cicero Dantas, Bahia, Brazil, and lasted for 38 minutes, covering a distance of 286 nautical miles.
The enroute descent began 16 miles west of Jaguaribe, Ceara, Brazil, and took 28 minutes to complete. During this period, the aircraft descended from 34,916 feet above sea level to 1,354 feet above sea level, a decrease of 33,562 feet. The distance covered during the descent was 133 nautical miles. The final approach to runway 13 at SBFZ Pinto Martins International Airport was made from the west, with a heading of 105.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,263 feet above ground level.
The landing on runway 13 was successful, with a touchdown distance of 241 meters, which was 56% of the runway length. The threshold speed was good at 143 knots, and the touchdown speed was 140 knots, which was a little fast. The touchdown rate was firm at -380 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was perfect. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of 27 °C, with a wind speed of 6 knots at 90°.
After landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking, which took 3 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 557 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 94 minutes. The aircraft used 3,992 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 737-800 aircraft successfully landed at SBFZ Pinto Martins International Airport, achieving a high score of 98.3%. The final approach to runway 13 was conducted from the west, with a heading of 105.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,263 feet above ground level (agl).
The aircraft touched down on the runway with a good threshold height, indicating a smooth and controlled descent. The threshold speed of 143 knots was also within the acceptable range, demonstrating the pilot's ability to manage the aircraft's speed during the landing phase. The touchdown distance of 241 meters was also satisfactory, indicating that the aircraft was able to maintain a stable and controlled approach.
However, the touchdown speed of 140 knots was slightly faster than the recommended speed, which may have resulted in a firmer touchdown rate of -380 feet per minute (fpm). Despite this, the runway touchdown alignment was perfect, indicating that the aircraft was properly aligned with the runway centerline.
The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were favorable, with a temperature of 27°C and a wind speed of 6 knots from a direction of 90°. The crosswind component was minimal at 2 knots, while the headwind component was 6 knots, which helped to stabilize the aircraft during the landing phase. The total landing distance of 1,428 meters was 56% of the runway length, indicating that the aircraft was able to stop within a reasonable distance.
The runway rollout alignment was also perfect, indicating that the aircraft was properly aligned with the runway centerline during the rollout phase. Overall, the landing was successful, and the aircraft was able to come to a stop within a safe distance from the runway threshold.
