MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 2,136 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 2,136 m of the 3,811 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 725 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight in the Airbus A321 began with a 5-minute taxi from the parking area to the runway at SCAT Desierto de Atacama Airport. The aircraft entered Runway 35 and conducted the departure roll, using 45% of the runway for a takeoff distance of 1,000 meters. The liftoff speed was 145 knots, with local weather conditions showing a temperature of 16°C and a tailwind of 11 knots.
The departure climb was successful, with the aircraft reaching altitudes of 50 feet, 400 feet, and eventually 1,000 feet above ground level. The enroute climb started north of SCAT Desierto de Atacama Airport, with the aircraft climbing from 1,573 feet to 2,979 feet, covering 9 nautical miles in 2 minutes. The flight then entered a level cruise phase, covering 18 nautical miles in 4 minutes from SCCL Caldera Airport.
The climb continued north of SCCL Caldera Airport, with the aircraft climbing from 2,981 feet to 37,912 feet in 21 minutes, covering 135 nautical miles. The level cruise then resumed, covering 115 nautical miles in 16 minutes before beginning a descent near SCCG La Pelícana Airport.
The descent from 37,762 feet to 2,840 feet took 24 minutes and covered 140 nautical miles. The final approach to Runway 17R at SCEL Comodoro Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport included several descent phases from different altitudes, with a go-around occurring at 404 feet above ground level.
The aircraft eventually landed on Runway 17R at SCEL, with a touchdown point 313 meters beyond the touchdown zone. The touchdown speed was 170 knots, resulting in a heavy touchdown rate of -762 feet per minute. The landing distance was 2,060 meters, with a slightly misaligned runway rollout alignment of 12.1 meters from the centerline.
After landing, the aircraft taxied at an average speed of 24 knots to the parking area, covering less than 1 nautical mile in 4 minutes. The total flight distance was 429 nautical miles, with a flight time of 95 minutes and fuel consumption of 4,215 kilograms.
