Shorten the long landing
Ground effect becomes significant below about one wingspan of height. A Cessna 172, with a 36 ft span, enters ground effect at flare height - the float it feels in the hold-off is ground effect arriving on cue. An A320, with a span around 117 ft, has been in ground effect since before the threshold and there is no sudden cushion to feel, only a gradual reduction in induced drag that lengthens any float you allow.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,537 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,537 m of the 2,130 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 452 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Congratulations on achieving a landing score of 98.5%! This is an exceptional accomplishment and a testament to your skill and proficiency as a pilot.
Let's break down your performance in each phase of the landing:
Approach Phase: While the descent path was below the glideslope limit, this is a minor deviation that can be easily corrected with practice and experience. Focus on maintaining a steady descent rate to improve accuracy in this phase.
Landing Phase: Your performance in this phase was impressive, with a good threshold height and an excellent landing flare. These are crucial elements for a smooth and safe landing, showcasing your ability to control the aircraft with precision.
Touchdown Phase: Although the touchdown rate was firm and the speed was slightly above target, the fact that the touchdown distance was inside the touchdown zone is a positive sign. Additionally, the runway touchdown position being 2.3 meters from the centerline shows good alignment and control during this phase.
Rollout Phase: Your runway alignment was very good during the rollout phase, indicating strong situational awareness and the ability to maintain control of the aircraft even after touchdown.
Overall, your performance demonstrates a high level of competence and proficiency in all phases of the landing process. With continued practice and attention to detail, you can further refine your skills and aim for even higher scores in future landings.
Keep up the excellent work and continue striving for excellence in your flying endeavors. Your dedication and commitment to safety and precision are truly commendable. Well done!
