Improve the rollout
A crosswind landing is a geometry problem. The air mass you're flying in is moving sideways across the runway, and you need your ground track down the centreline with your wheels aligned to it at the moment of contact. There are two techniques that will help, the crab and the sideslip.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 5,256 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,256 ft of the 10,169 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 393 ft touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 11 minutes and covered a distance of 3 nautical miles. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-800, then departed from runway 24L at Montreal / Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport (CYUL). The takeoff distance was 5,038 feet, which accounted for 53% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 162 knots.
As the aircraft took to the skies, it encountered local weather conditions of 75°F temperature and a wind speed of 13 knots at 230°. The crosswind was 2 knots, while the headwind was 13 knots. The enroute climb started overhead Dorval, Quebec, Canada, where the aircraft ascended from 1,110 feet above sea level to 31,464 feet above sea level, an increase of 30,353 feet in 20 minutes, covering a distance of 122 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise began 18 miles northeast of Fort-Coulonge, Quebec, Canada, and lasted for 100 minutes, covering a distance of 1,410 nautical miles. The descent started 9 miles northeast of CEK6 Killam-Sedgewick Airport, Killam, Alberta, Canada, where the aircraft descended from 32,489 feet above sea level to 3,654 feet above sea level, a decrease of 28,835 feet in 17 minutes, covering a distance of 71 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 30 at Edmonton International Airport (CYEG) was from the southeast, heading 315.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,302 feet above ground level. However, a go-around was initiated at 1,110 feet above ground level. The aircraft then landed on runway 30, which had a length of 10,169 feet. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was also satisfactory at 134 knots.
The touchdown distance was good at 402 feet, and the touchdown speed was 133 knots, which was also satisfactory. However, the touchdown rate was fair at -285 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 11 feet from the centreline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 70°F temperature and a wind speed of 9 knots at 220°, with a crosswind of 9 knots and a tailwind of 1 knot.
The total landing distance was 5,008 feet, which accounted for 49% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was very good. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 4 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 1,625 nautical miles, which was covered in 161 minutes, and the aircraft used 26,333 pounds of fuel.
The Boeing 737-800 aircraft successfully landed at Edmonton International Airport (CYEG) on runway 30, achieving a high score of 94.2%. The final approach was initiated from the southeast, heading 315.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,302 feet above ground level (agl).
The aircraft touched down on the runway with a good threshold height, indicating a smooth and controlled descent. The threshold speed was also within the acceptable range, at 141 kt. However, the touchdown speed was slightly lower at 133 kt, which is still considered good. The touchdown distance of 402 ft was also within the acceptable range.
Despite the good overall performance, there was a slight issue with the runway touchdown position, which was misaligned by 11 ft from the centreline. This could be attributed to a slight deviation in the aircraft's alignment during the final approach. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 70°F and a wind speed of 9 kt at 220°.
The crosswind component was 9 kt, while the tailwind component was minimal at 1 kt. The total landing distance was 5,008 ft, which is 49% of the runway length. This is a relatively short landing distance, indicating a good performance from the aircraft. The runway rollout alignment was very good, suggesting that the aircraft was well under control during the rollout phase.
Overall, the landing was successful, with the aircraft achieving a high score. However, the slight misalignment of the runway touchdown position and the fair touchdown rate of -285 fpm are areas for improvement.
