Smooth the climb
A good takeoff has a defined shape. It also has a defined end. For an airliner that's thrust reduction and acceleration, commonly somewhere around 1,000 to 1,500 ft above the airfield depending on the operator, while for a light aircraft it's established at Vy with the flaps on schedule. Most simmers have no defined end to their takeoff, which is exactly why it never gets judged.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: seven checks where the approach path is 300 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
At the 300 ft gate: off the centreline.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 606 m of the approach.
Plan view — the full 606 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 142 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking area to the runway, which took approximately 7 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The aircraft, a Cessna C172, then departed from runway 26 at EHDR Drachten Airfield, with a takeoff distance of 70 meters, which is 10% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was recorded at 71 knots.
As the aircraft climbed to a higher altitude, it started its enroute climb from an initial altitude of 295 feet above sea level (asl) to 2,008 ft asl, an increase of 1,713 feet in just 2 minutes, covering a distance of 3 nautical miles. This climb phase took place over the town of Drachten in the province of Friesland, the Netherlands.
Following the climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started overhead the town of Boornbergum in the province of Friesland, the Netherlands. This cruise phase lasted for 114 minutes, during which the aircraft covered a distance of 128 nautical miles.
As the aircraft approached its destination, it began its enroute descent from an altitude of 1,905 ft asl to 928 ft asl, a decrease of 977 feet in just 2 minutes, covering a distance of 2 nautical miles. This descent phase took place 2 miles south of the town of Heusden in Flanders, Belgium.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, which started overhead the town of Zonhoven in Flanders, Belgium. This short cruise phase lasted for 2 minutes, during which the aircraft covered a distance of 1 nautical mile.
The final approach to runway 27 at EBZH Kiewit Airfield Hasselt was made from the east, with a heading of 269.0° at an altitude of 96 feet above ground level (agl) and a distance of 0 nautical miles from the runway. The landing was made on runway 27, which has a length of 606 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was slightly above the target speed at 65 knots.
The touchdown distance was good at 139 meters, and the touchdown speed was recorded at 57 knots, which was good. The touchdown rate was excellent at -97 feet per minute (fpm). However, the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned from the centreline by 7.4 meters.
The local weather conditions during the flight were characterized by a temperature of 14°C. The total flight distance was 136 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 124 minutes. The aircraft used a total of 6 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Cessna C172 aircraft successfully landed at EBZH Kiewit Airfield Hasselt, achieving a score of 96.8%. The final approach was conducted from the east, heading 269.0° at an altitude of 96 feet above ground level (agl) and 0 nautical miles from the runway. The aircraft maintained a good threshold height, which is a crucial aspect of a safe landing.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's speed was slightly above the target threshold speed of 65 knots, but still within a safe range. The touchdown distance of 139 meters was also considered good, indicating that the pilot had sufficient control over the aircraft's descent. The touchdown speed of 57 knots was also within the acceptable range, further emphasizing the pilot's skill and control.
One area for improvement was the runway touchdown position, which was slightly misaligned by 7.4 meters from the centerline. However, this deviation was not significant enough to compromise the safety of the landing. The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were mild, with a temperature of 14°C.
The aircraft's performance in terms of touchdown rate was excellent, with a rate of -97 feet per minute (fpm). This indicates that the pilot had a good understanding of the aircraft's descent rate and was able to control it effectively. Overall, the landing was considered safe and successful, with the pilot demonstrating good skills and control throughout the approach and touchdown phases.
