Flight Score
Departure
Hold the nose down until the speed reaches 39 kt, then rotate.
What happened: You started the rotation at 24 kt, 15 kt before the 39 kt rotation speed.
Watch for: Airspeed indicator: 39 kt at rotation
See Departure Roll
Arrival
Make small rudder corrections against a fixed point at the far end of the runway to hold the centreline.
What happened: You drifted off the centreline on the approach.
Watch for: Runway centreline: tracked all the way to the threshold.
See Arrival Approach
A typical trainer rotates in the mid-50s of knots - a 172 at around 55 KIAS, climbing out at a Vy in the low 70s, though check your own POH rather than memorising Cessna's numbers - and the transferable rule is that Vr sits just above the stall speed in takeoff configuration. Rotate early because "it felt ready" and the aircraft lifts off inside ground effect, where induced drag is reduced, then climbs out of it into more drag. On a marginal-performance day the result is an aircraft that lifts off and then refuses to climb, sagging back towards the runway.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate for a circuit: seven checks where the approach path is 300 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate is an instrument-approach check and does not apply. These checks are the approach's score.
At the 300 ft gate: centreline 3.4° off, against a 1° limit.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,490 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 409 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The Aeroprakt A-32 Vixxen taxied to runway 23 at EHGG Groningen Airport Eelde and commenced the departure roll. The aircraft accelerated over a takeoff distance of 213 m, representing 9 % of the runway, and lifted off at 38 kt. Ambient conditions were 11 °C with a wind of 1 kt from 169°, a cross-wind component of 1 kt and no head-wind.
During the approach the pilot entered a left-hand pattern on runway 23, completing the entry in less than 1 nm in 23 seconds and the subsequent cross-wind leg in less than 1 nm in 22 seconds. The downwind turn covered 1 nm at an angle of 99.7° to the runway, followed by a downwind leg of 2 nm completed in 70 seconds. The base turn spanned 1 nm at a 42.4° angle, and the base leg was less than 1 nm in 34 seconds. The final turn was also less than 1 nm in 25 seconds. The final approach was established from the north-east on a heading of 231.0° at 1 nm and 302 ft AGL.
Landing was executed on runway 23, whose total length is 2,493 m. The threshold speed was recorded at 46 kt, above the target. Touchdown occurred 412 m down the runway at a speed of 24 kt, with a vertical speed of minus 28 fpm and perfect alignment. Weather conditions remained unchanged with a temperature of 11 °C, wind 1 kt from 169°, cross-wind 1 kt and head-wind 0 kt.
The rollout covered a total landing distance of 469 m, equivalent to 19 % of the runway, and the aircraft remained aligned with the runway centreline throughout the deceleration phase.
In total the flight covered 7 nm, required 6 minutes of elapsed time, and consumed 1 kg of fuel.
The Aeroprakt A-32 Vixxen conducted its final approach to runway 23 at EHGG Groningen Airport Eelde from the north-east, tracking a heading of 231.0° at 1 nm and 302 ft agl. Local conditions were 11 °C with a wind of 1 kt from 169°, a crosswind component of 1 kt and no headwind.
At threshold the aircraft enjoyed a good threshold height, while the threshold speed was well above target at 46 kt.
Touchdown occurred 412 m down the runway with a speed of 24 kt, both described as good, and the vertical rate was perfect at minus 28 fpm. Runway touchdown alignment was perfect and the total landing distance measured 469 m, representing 19 % of the 2,493 m runway.
Rollout alignment remained perfect throughout the remaining distance.
Maintain the excellent alignment and rate achieved, but aim to bring the threshold speed closer to the target value to further optimise the landing profile.
