Improve the rollout
A crosswind landing is a geometry problem. The air mass you're flying in is moving sideways across the runway, and you need your ground track down the centreline with your wheels aligned to it at the moment of contact. There are two techniques that will help, the crab and the sideslip.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 1,599 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 308 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the Vision Jet taxiing from the parking area to the runway at EHWO Woensdrecht Air Base, taking 7 minutes and covering a distance of 2 nautical miles. The departure roll took place on runway 07, with a takeoff distance of 431 meters, which accounted for 18% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 91 knots.
As the aircraft took to the skies, it encountered local weather conditions of 0°C temperature and a wind speed of 6 knots at 40 degrees. The crosswind was 3 knots, while the headwind was 5 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, starting overhead EHWO Woensdrecht Air Base Hoogerheide, where it climbed from 1,128 feet above sea level to 8,462 feet, an increase of 7,334 feet in 4 minutes, covering a distance of 9 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started 1 mile south of Sprundel, lasting 2 minutes and covering 6 nautical miles. The aircraft then began another enroute climb, this time overhead Prinsenbeek, where it climbed from 8,550 feet to 16,272 feet, an increase of 7,722 feet in 4 minutes, covering a distance of 21 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise continued, this time overhead Zuilichem, lasting 23 minutes and covering 212 nautical miles. As the aircraft approached its destination, it began its enroute descent, starting 15 miles south of Peacehaven, where it descended from 16,433 feet to 2,845 feet, a decrease of 13,588 feet in 4 minutes, covering a distance of 22 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise resumed, this time 3 miles east of Selsey, lasting 26 minutes and covering 29 nautical miles. The final approach to runway 20 at EGHI Southampton Airport was made from the north, heading 200.0 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 1,331 feet above ground level.
The landing on runway 20 was successful, with a touchdown distance of 305 meters, which was 58% of the runway length. The touchdown speed was 62 knots, and the touchdown rate was excellent at -99 feet per minute. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, and the local weather conditions were 2°C temperature and a wind speed of 10 knots at 70 degrees, with a crosswind of 8 knots and a tailwind of 6 knots.
After landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, taking 3 minutes and covering a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 306 nautical miles, taking 75 minutes, and the aircraft used 380 kilograms of fuel.
The Vision Jet has successfully landed at EGHI Southampton Airport, achieving a score of 89.3%. The aircraft approached the runway from the north, heading 200.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,331 feet above ground level (agl). The pilot executed a precise final approach, aligning the aircraft with the runway threshold.
Upon landing, the Vision Jet demonstrated good threshold height and speed, touching down at 71 knots. The touchdown distance of 305 meters was also within acceptable limits, and the touchdown speed of 62 knots was well-controlled. The most impressive aspect of the landing was the excellent touchdown rate of -99 feet per minute (fpm), indicating a smooth and controlled descent.
The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were characterized by a temperature of 2°C and a wind speed of 10 knots from a direction of 70°. This resulted in a crosswind component of 8 knots and a tailwind component of 6 knots. Despite these challenging conditions, the pilot successfully managed the aircraft, ensuring a stable and controlled landing.
However, there was a minor deviation in the runway rollout alignment, with the aircraft being misaligned by 21.3 meters from the centerline. This was the only notable area for improvement in an otherwise excellent landing. The total landing distance of 935 meters was 58% of the available runway length, indicating a safe and controlled landing.
Overall, the Vision Jet's landing at EGHI Southampton Airport was a testament to the pilot's skill and experience, as well as the aircraft's capabilities. The successful execution of the landing, despite challenging weather conditions, demonstrates the Vision Jet's ability to perform well in a variety of scenarios.
