Maintain the centreline
A small uncorrected heading error at 40 knots becomes a metre of offset per second by 100 knots, noticed only at rotation, producing a crabbed liftoff. Root cause is nearly always eyes on the tape instead of the far end of the runway. Small heading changes displace a distant point visibly long before the nearby centreline stripes look wrong.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway. They are the approach's score: the checks passed out of the checks that ran.
At the 1,000 ft gate: speed 56 kt FAST on the reference speed of 102 kt.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,463 m of the approach.
Plan view — the full 1,463 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 330 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.

On final approach to runway 27 at EGJB Guernsey Airport, the aircraft descended from 1,370 ft agl to 83 ft agl in 115 seconds and scored on the stabilisation gates.
Landing on runway 27, which is 1,463 m long, the aircraft achieved a threshold speed of 92 kt (slightly below target). Touchdown occurred at 329 m down the runway with a speed of 88 kt; the touchdown rate was firm at minus 328 fpm and alignment was very good. Local weather at the time was 18 °C, wind 1 kt from 1°, with a 1 kt cross-wind and no head-wind.
The total landing distance recorded was 722 m, representing 49 % of the runway, and rollout alignment was very good.
After landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area in 3 minutes, covering less than 1 nm
The ATR-72 arrived on final approach to runway 27 at EGJB Guernsey Airport with an unstable profile at the 1,000 ft gate, being more than 20 kt above VREF, and completed a descent from 1,370 ft agl to 83 ft agl in 115 seconds while being scored on the stabilisation gates; the overall landing score was 95.2 %.
During the threshold and flare phase the aircraft touched down with a threshold speed slightly below target at 92 kt and a good threshold height, on a runway 1,463 m long.
Touchdown occurred 329 m down the runway at a speed of 88 kt, a firm rate of -328 fpm, and very good runway-touchdown alignment; ambient conditions were 18 °C with a wind of 1 kt from 1°, crosswind 1 kt and headwind 0 kt.
The rollout covered a total landing distance of 722 m, representing 49 % of the runway, and the runway-rollout alignment was very good.
To convert the high-speed approach into a fully stabilised one, reduce the approach speed to VREF by the 1,000 ft gate and verify speed adherence during the final descent. Maintaining the target speed will help preserve the excellent touchdown and rollout performance already demonstrated.
