Monitor your taxi speed
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
At the 500 ft gate: sink rate above what the glideslope needed.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,740 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 544 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The Airbus A320 taxied from the parking area to runway 08R at KMIA Miami International Airport, covering 9 nm in 15 minutes.
During the departure roll on runway 08R, the aircraft used 2,224 m of runway, representing 69 % of the available length, and lifted off at 167 kt. Local weather at the time was 36 °C with a wind of 21 kt from 160 °, a cross-wind component of 20 kt and a head-wind component of 6 kt.
Climb commenced approximately 1 mile south-west of Brownsville, Florida, with the A320 ascending from 1,014 ft asl to 34,125 ft asl, an increase of 33,111 ft achieved in 17 minutes while covering 111 nm.
Level cruise began about 4 miles south-west of Marco Island, Florida, and persisted for 87 minutes, during which the aircraft flew 651 nm.
Descent was initiated roughly 18 miles south-west of the LA12 Louisiana State Police Troop B Helipad Heliport Kenner, with altitude decreasing from 33,849 ft asl to 1,387 ft asl, a loss of 32,462 ft over 25 minutes and a distance of 128 nm.
The final approach to runway 26R at KIAH George Bush Intercontinental Houston Airport was flown from the east, on a heading of 270.0 °, at 4 nm and 1,286 ft agl. Weather at the destination was 35 °C with a wind of 5 kt from 180 °, a cross-wind of 5 kt and no head-wind.
Landing on runway 26R, which is 2,740 m long, occurred with a threshold height of 57 ft agl slightly above target and a threshold speed of 136 kt. Touchdown was recorded 131 m beyond the touchdown zone, at a speed of 129 kt, with a touchdown rate of minus 150 fpm, and the aircraft was laterally offset by 3.6 m from the centreline.
The rollout covered a total landing distance of 1,230 m, representing 45 % of the runway, and the aircraft’s alignment on the runway was misaligned by 15.0 m from the centreline.
After landing, the A320 taxied to the parking area, traveling 3 nm in 13 minutes.
In total, the flight covered 908 nm, required 152 minutes of airborne time, and consumed 5,557 kg of fuel.
The Airbus A320 approached runway 26R at KIAH from the east on a heading of 270.0° while 4 nm out and at 1,286 ft agl, with temperature 35 °C, wind 5 kt from 180°, a 5 kt cross-wind and no head-wind.
At the threshold the aircraft was at 57 ft agl, which was slightly above target, and the threshold speed was good at 136 kt.
Touchdown occurred 131 m beyond the designated touchdown zone; the speed was a little fast at 129 kt, the vertical rate was good at minus 150 fpm, and the touchdown point was slightly misaligned by 3.6 m from the centreline.
The total landing distance measured 1,230 m, representing 45 % of the 2,740 m runway, and rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 15.0 m from the centreline.
Refine the touchdown point to fall within the touchdown zone to reduce the 131 m overshoot, and improve centreline tracking during rollout to lessen the 15.0 m misalignment.
