Keep the approach speed on target
Next time
Add power on short final to hold speed at 137 kt, correcting the slow threshold speed before it carries through to the flare.
What happened: Threshold speed was slow at 113 kt against 137 kt, and touchdown followed short of the aim point at 157 ft. Crossing the threshold slow like this usually carries the touchdown short.
Watch for: Airspeed indicator against 137 kt on short final.
Departure
Rotate the moment the speed tape reaches 125 kt, not after it.
What happened: Rotation was held until 145 kt, 20 kt past the 125 kt rotation target. Carrying that much extra speed into rotation usually adds unwanted energy right at liftoff.
Every knot above Vref is stored kinetic energy, and energy stored at the threshold must be dissipated in ground effect before the aeroplane will stop flying. Because kinetic energy scales with the square of speed, the excess you must dissipate grows fast. At a 45-knot approach, five knots hot is over a tenth more speed and roughly a quarter more energy to get rid of in ground effect. This is why the fix is never in the flare. It was decided three miles earlier, on final, at the airspeed indicator.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with six checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway. They are the approach's score: the checks passed out of the checks that ran.
At the 500 ft gate: glideslope 1.7° against the runway's 3°.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 5,000 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,000 ft of the 5,502 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 157 ft short of the threshold. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The Cessna 750 Citation X taxied from the parking area to the departure runway in 1 minutes, covering less than 1 nm.
The aircraft commenced its departure roll on runway 18C at KMEM Memphis International Airport, using a takeoff distance of 4,010 ft (36 % of runway) and achieving liftoff at 145 kt. Local weather reported a temperature of 64 °F, wind 2 kt at 270 °, crosswind 2 kt and headwind 0 kt.
Climb began 1 mile east of Southaven, Mississippi, with the airplane ascending from 989 ft asl to 15,220 ft asl, an increase of 14,231 ft in 6 minutes while traversing 29 nm.
Level cruise was established 6 miles south of Parkin, Arkansas, and persisted for 31 minutes, during which the flight covered 221 nm.
Descent was initiated 5 miles south east of Kenwood, Oklahoma, descending from 15,207 ft asl to 1,833 ft asl, a decrease of 13,374 ft in 11 minutes and encompassing 56 nm.
The final approach to runway 18R at KTUL Tulsa International Airport was flown from the north, on a heading of 183.0 ° at 4 nm and 1,186 ft agl.
Landing on runway 18R, which measures 6,104 ft, was executed with a threshold speed of 112 kt, a touchdown distance of 424 ft, and a touchdown speed of 110 kt. The aircraft touched down with a firm rate of minus 361 fpm and maintained very good runway alignment. Local conditions were temperature 59 °F, wind 2 kt at 270 °, crosswind 2 kt and headwind 0 kt.
The total landing roll measured 2,073 ft, representing 34 % of the runway, and the rollout alignment remained very good.
After landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area in 1 minutes, covering less than 1 nm.
Overall, the flight covered a total distance of 314nm, took 54 minutes, and used 0 lbs of fuel.
The Cessna 750 Citation X approached runway 18R at KTUL Tulsa International Airport from the north on a final approach heading 183.0° at 4 nm and 1,186 ft agl, with a temperature of 59 °F and wind 2 kt from 270°, consisting of a 2 kt cross-wind and no head-wind.
At threshold the height was good and the aircraft crossed the threshold at a speed slightly below target, recorded at 112 kt.
Touchdown occurred 424 ft down the runway; the speed at touchdown was a little fast at 110 kt, the vertical rate was firm at minus 361 fpm, and runway touchdown alignment was very good.
The rollout covered a total landing distance of 2,073 ft, representing 34 % of the 6,104-ft runway, and rollout alignment remained very good.
To tighten the already strong performance, adjust the approach to achieve the target threshold speed and refine flare timing to reduce touchdown speed to the desired value.
