A crosswind landing is a geometry problem. The air mass you're flying in is moving sideways across the runway, and you need your ground track down the centreline with your wheels aligned to it at the moment of contact. There are two techniques that will help, the crab and the sideslip.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway. They are the approach's score: the checks passed out of the checks that ran.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,563 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,563 m of the 4,065 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 410 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Departing from Calvi-Sainte-Catherine Airport, the Airbus A321 began its journey with a smooth taxiing process, taking just 3 minutes to reach the runway. With a takeoff distance of 1,254 meters, which covered 59% of the runway, the aircraft lifted off at a speed of 147 knots. The local weather conditions were favorable, with a temperature of 18°C and a gentle wind of 2 knots at 127°.
As the aircraft climbed out of Calvi, it began its enroute climb, reaching an altitude of 14,010 feet in just 6 minutes, covering a distance of 29 nautical miles. The climb was followed by a brief level cruise, lasting 3 minutes and covering 22 nautical miles. The aircraft then resumed its climb, this time reaching an altitude of 36,010 feet in 16 minutes, covering a distance of 120 nautical miles. The climb was followed by another level cruise, lasting 9 minutes and covering 71 nautical miles. As the aircraft approached its destination, it began its descent, reducing its altitude from 36,011 feet to 4,009 feet in 23 minutes, covering a distance of 143 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 08R at Munich Airport was executed from the west, with the aircraft maintaining a heading of 83.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,439 feet above ground level. The landing was successful, with a touchdown distance of 417 meters and a touchdown speed of 134 knots. However, the touchdown speed was slightly above the target, and the touchdown rate was firm at -314 feet per minute. The aircraft taxied to the parking area, taking 7 minutes to cover a distance of 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 403 nautical miles, taking 72 minutes, and the aircraft used 3,437 kilograms of fuel.
The final approach to runway 08R at EDDM Munich Airport from the west was executed with a heading of 83.0° at 4 nm and 1,439 ft above ground level. The approach quality was good, with a stable and controlled descent. The threshold height was satisfactory, allowing for a smooth transition to the landing phase.
As the aircraft touched down on the runway, the touchdown speed of 134 kt was slightly above the target, resulting in a firm touchdown rate of -314 fpm. The touchdown distance of 417 m was within acceptable limits, and the aircraft remained on the runway for a total distance of 1,494 m, which equated to 37% of the runway length. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 3.7 m from the centreline, but this did not significantly impact the subsequent rollout phase.
The runway rollout alignment was very good, with the aircraft maintaining a consistent path along the centreline. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 10 °C and a wind of 6 kt at 340°, contributed to a relatively calm landing environment. The crosswind and tailwind components were minimal, with 6 kt and 1 kt respectively, allowing for a stable and controlled rollout. Overall, the landing was scored 98.3%, reflecting a high level of proficiency and adherence to standard operating procedures.
