Improve the pattern downwind leg
Spacing cues are relative to your eyepoint, so two simmers with different FOV settings following the same wingtip cue fly patterns half a mile different in width, and a wide FOV compresses depth so the runway on base looks further away than it is, biasing you towards a late turn. Pick a camera position and FOV, save it, and never change it, because every judgement you calibrate is calibrated to that picture.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate for a circuit: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate is an instrument-approach check and does not apply.
Side view — the last 878 m of the approach.
Plan view — the full 878 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 57 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the Sirius aircraft departing from runway 30 at EDMV Vilshofen Airfield. The takeoff distance was 166 meters, which accounted for 19% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 59 knots, indicating a smooth and controlled takeoff. The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 15 degrees Celsius and a gentle wind of 2 knots at 269 degrees, resulting in a crosswind of 1 knot and a headwind of 2 knots.
As the aircraft entered the left-hand pattern, it demonstrated impressive agility, completing the entry in less than 1 nautical mile in just 23 seconds. The subsequent left-hand pattern crosswind turn was even quicker, taking less than 1 nautical mile in 20 seconds. The pattern downwind turn was executed at an angle of 45 degrees to the runway, with a distance of 1 nautical mile. The downwind leg itself lasted for 94 seconds, covering a distance of 1 nautical mile.
The final approach to runway 30 was made from the southeast, with the aircraft heading 303 degrees at an altitude of 19.4 meters above ground level. The landing was smooth and controlled, with the threshold speed being slightly below the target at 47 knots. The touchdown distance was good, measuring 54 meters, and the touchdown speed was also within acceptable limits at 46 knots. The touchdown rate was smooth, at -0.6 meters per second, and the runway touchdown alignment was perfect.
The total landing distance was 184 meters, which accounted for 21% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was also perfect, indicating a well-executed landing. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were similar to those at departure, with a temperature of 15 degrees Celsius and a gentle wind of 2 knots at 290 degrees, resulting in a crosswind of 0 knots and a headwind of 2 knots.
In conclusion, the flight was characterized by smooth and controlled takeoff and landing, with impressive agility and precision during the pattern turns. The aircraft demonstrated good fuel efficiency, using -14 kilograms of fuel for the entire flight, which covered a total distance of 3 nautical miles in 3 minutes.
The Sirius aircraft has successfully landed at EDMV Vilshofen Airfield, achieving a high score of 97.5%. The final approach to runway 30 was conducted from the south east, with a heading of 303.0° at an altitude of 19.4 meters above ground level (agl) and 0 nautical miles from the runway.
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down on the runway with a speed of 47 knots, which was slightly below the target threshold speed. However, this did not affect the overall performance of the landing, as the touchdown distance of 54 meters was considered good. The touchdown speed of 46 knots was also within acceptable limits, and the touchdown rate of -0.6 meters per second was smooth, indicating a controlled descent.
The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, demonstrating the pilot's skill and precision in navigating the aircraft to the correct position on the runway. The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were favorable, with a temperature of 15°C and a gentle headwind of 2 knots from a direction of 290°. There was no crosswind, which further contributed to the smoothness of the landing.
The total landing distance of 184 meters was only 21% of the runway length, indicating a short and controlled rollout. The runway rollout alignment was also perfect, showing that the pilot maintained control of the aircraft throughout the landing process. Overall, the Sirius aircraft's landing at EDMV Vilshofen Airfield was a success, with the pilot demonstrating excellent skills and control.
