MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Know your rotation speed
A typical trainer rotates in the mid-50s of knots - a 172 at around 55 KIAS, climbing out at a Vy in the low 70s, though check your own POH rather than memorising Cessna's numbers - and the transferable rule is that Vr sits just above the stall speed in takeoff configuration. Rotate early because "it felt ready" and the aircraft lifts off inside ground effect, where induced drag is reduced, then climbs out of it into more drag. On a marginal-performance day the result is an aircraft that lifts off and then refuses to climb, sagging back towards the runway.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,494 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 105 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the aircraft taxiing from the parking area to the runway at EDDS Stuttgart Airport, taking 11 minutes and covering a distance of 2 nautical miles. The departure roll took place on runway 25, with a takeoff distance of 896 meters, which accounted for 29% of the runway. The aircraft lifted off at a speed of 132 knots.
As the aircraft took to the skies, it encountered local weather conditions of 8°C temperature and a wind speed of 23 knots at 200 degrees. The crosswind component was 19 knots, while the headwind component was 13 knots. The aircraft began its enroute climb, starting overhead EDDS Stuttgart Airport and ascending from 2,294 feet above sea level to 33,738 feet above sea level, an increase of 31,444 feet in 21 minutes, covering a distance of 120 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started overhead Emmering, Germany, and lasted for 62 minutes, covering a distance of 493 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, starting 4 miles east of Fushe-Arrez, Albania, and descending from 33,809 feet above sea level to 3,153 feet above sea level, a decrease of 30,656 feet in 19 minutes, covering a distance of 49 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 35 at BKPR Priština Adem Jashari International Airport was made from the south, heading 356.0 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 1,351 feet above ground level. The landing took place on runway 35, which had a length of 2,494 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was also good at 132 knots. The touchdown distance was 104 meters, and the touchdown speed was 130 knots, which was good. The touchdown rate was firm at -306 feet per minute.
The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 4.2 meters from the centerline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were -4°C temperature and a wind speed of 1 knot at 285 degrees. The crosswind component was 1 knot, while the headwind component was 0 knots. The total landing distance was 1,189 meters, which accounted for 48% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was very good.
After landing, the aircraft taxiied to the parking area from the runway, taking 3 minutes and covering a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 670 nautical miles, taking 119 minutes, and the aircraft used 4,482 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A320 successfully landed at Priština Adem Jashari International Airport, achieving a high score of 98.5%. The aircraft approached the runway from the south, heading 356.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,351 feet above ground level (agl). The pilot maintained a good threshold height, which is a critical aspect of a safe landing.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's speed was within the acceptable range, at 132 knots, and the touchdown distance was also satisfactory at 104 meters. The touchdown speed of 130 knots was also within the desired parameters, indicating a smooth and controlled descent. The touchdown rate of -306 feet per minute (fpm) was firm, which is essential for preventing the aircraft from bouncing or skidding upon landing.
However, there was a slight deviation in the runway touchdown position, with the aircraft being 4.2 meters off-centerline. This minor misalignment may have been due to various factors, including wind or pilot error. Nevertheless, it did not significantly impact the overall landing performance.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were relatively calm, with a temperature of -4°C and a gentle wind of 1 knot from 285°. The crosswind component was minimal at 1 knot, and there was no headwind. These favorable weather conditions likely contributed to the smooth landing.
The total landing distance of 1,189 meters was within 48% of the runway length, which is a reasonable margin. The runway rollout alignment was also very good, indicating that the pilot maintained control of the aircraft during the post-landing phase. Overall, the landing was successful, and the pilot's skills and experience were evident in the high score achieved.
