MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with six checks at 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 5,000 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,000 ft of the 5,206 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 357 ft touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Departing from SBEG Eduardo Gomes International Airport in Manaus, Brazil, the aircraft began its taxiing process from the parking area to the runway, taking approximately 8 minutes to cover a distance of 2 nautical miles. Upon reaching runway 29, the departure roll commenced, and the aircraft accelerated down the 5,207-foot runway, achieving liftoff at a speed of 50 knots. The takeoff distance of 783 feet accounted for only 9% of the available runway length.
As the aircraft climbed away from the airport, it transitioned into an enroute climb phase, ascending from 1,215 feet above sea level to 2,348 feet in just 1 minute, covering a distance of 2 nautical miles. The climb was initiated overhead the airport, and the aircraft then entered a level cruise phase, maintaining an altitude of 2,348 feet for 111 minutes as it covered a distance of 193 nautical miles. The cruise phase concluded 2 miles west of the airport, and the aircraft began its descent for the final approach to runway 28 at SWKO Coari Airport.
The final approach was conducted from the east, with the aircraft aligning with the runway at a height of 459 feet above ground level and a distance of 1 nautical mile from the threshold. The landing was executed at a speed of 51 knots, slightly below the target threshold speed. The touchdown distance of 350 feet was within acceptable limits, and the touchdown speed of 43 knots and rate of -183 feet per minute were also satisfactory. The aircraft touched down 13 feet off the centerline, but the runway rollout alignment was perfect. Following the landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, taking approximately 2 minutes to cover a short distance. The total flight distance of 199 nautical miles was achieved in 120 minutes, with the aircraft consuming 34 pounds of fuel.
The final approach to runway 28 at SWKO Coari Airport from the east was executed with good quality, with the aircraft maintaining a steady heading of 271.0° at 1 nm and 459 ft above ground level. The approach was characterized by a smooth descent, with the aircraft touching down at a good distance of 350 ft from the threshold. The touchdown speed of 43 kt was within the acceptable range, and the touchdown rate of -183 fpm was also satisfactory.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's wheels made contact with the runway, and the pilot maintained control, keeping the aircraft aligned with the centreline. However, the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 13 ft from the centreline, which may have been due to a slight deviation in the approach or a minor issue with the aircraft's directional control. Despite this, the pilot was able to recover and maintain a perfect rollout alignment, ensuring a safe and controlled deceleration.
The overall performance of the landing was satisfactory, with a score of 94.3%. The threshold speed was slightly below the target at 51 kt, but this did not significantly impact the overall outcome. The total landing distance of 694 ft was 13% of the runway length, which is within the acceptable range. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 78°F and a light wind of 3 kt at 228°, did not pose any significant challenges to the landing.
