Shorten the long landing
Ground effect becomes significant below about one wingspan of height. A Cessna 172, with a 36 ft span, enters ground effect at flare height - the float it feels in the hold-off is ground effect arriving on cue. An A320, with a span around 117 ft, has been in ground effect since before the threshold and there is no sudden cushion to feel, only a gradual reduction in induced drag that lengthens any float you allow.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 2,227 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 2,227 m of the 3,890 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 936 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.

The Boeing 777-300 executed a final approach to runway 16L at LIRF Rome-Fiumicino, arriving from the north on a heading of 163.0° at 4 nm and 1,277 ft agl, with a recorded score of 89.9 %. Local weather was 25 °C with wind 0 kt at 30°, no cross-wind and no head-wind.
At the threshold the runway measured 3,890 m and the aircraft reported a good threshold height; the threshold speed was good at 146 kt.
Touchdown occurred 522 m beyond the designated touchdown zone, with a good touchdown speed of 133 kt and a smooth touchdown rate of minus 138 fpm; runway touchdown alignment was perfect.
The total landing distance was 2,149 m, representing 55 % of the runway, and rollout alignment remained perfect.
To improve the score, aim to achieve touchdown within the touchdown zone to reduce the 522 m overshoot, and adjust the flare point accordingly. This refinement will bring the landing distance further inside the runway limits.
