MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,606 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,606 m of the 2,440 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 287 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The Embraer E175 taxied from the parking area to runway 08 at KDEN Denver International Airport, a movement that lasted eight minutes and covered two nautical miles.
During the departure roll on runway 08, the aircraft accelerated to a liftoff speed of 153 kt, using a takeoff distance of 1,937 m which represented 53 % of the runway length; ambient temperature was 32 °C with wind 8 kt from 10°, a cross-wind component of 8 kt and a head-wind component of 1 kt.
Climb commenced two miles east of KDEN, with the airplane climbing from 6,298 ft asl to 31,034 ft asl, an altitude gain of 24,735 ft achieved in 14 minutes while covering 91 nm.
Level cruise began one mile east of CD05 Jackson Airfield Yuma and continued for 29 minutes, during which the aircraft traversed 519 nm.
Descent was initiated two miles north of Strawberry Point, Iowa, descending from 31,001 ft asl to 2,004 ft asl, a loss of 28,997 ft over 12 minutes and a distance of 106 nm.
The final approach to runway 36 at KMSN Dane County Regional Truax Field was flown from the south, on a heading of 2.0° at four nautical miles out and 1,130 ft agl.
Landing on runway 36, which is 2,436 m long, occurred with a threshold speed slightly above target at 132 kt; touchdown was recorded at 284 m down the runway with a speed of 131 kt, a touchdown rate of minus 383 fpm, and a touchdown point offset 6.5 m from the centreline. Local weather reported a temperature of 21 °C, wind 6 kt from 320°, a cross-wind of 4 kt and a head-wind of 4 kt.
The rollout covered a total landing distance of 1,521 m, representing 62 % of the runway, and the aircraft’s alignment during rollout was offset by 8.6 m from the centreline.
After exiting the runway, the aircraft taxied back to the parking area in one minute, traveling less than one nautical mile.
In total, the flight covered 724 nm, took 64 minutes, and consumed 2,214 kg of fuel.
The Embraer E175 entered the final approach to runway 36 at KMSN from the south on a heading of 2.0° at 4 nm and 1,130 ft agl, with ambient temperature 21 °C, wind 6 kt from 320°, a 4 kt cross-wind component and a 4 kt head-wind component.
At threshold the aircraft maintained a good height and the threshold speed was slightly above target at 132 kt.
Touchdown occurred 284 m down the runway; the touchdown speed of 131 kt was fast and the touchdown rate was firm at minus 383 fpm, with the wheel track slightly misaligned by 6.5 m from the centreline.
The total landing distance measured 1,521 m, representing 62 % of the 2,436 m runway, and the rollout alignment was slightly off centreline by 8.6 m.
Refine speed management to bring the threshold and touchdown speeds closer to target values, and apply minor corrections to maintain centreline alignment during touchdown and rollout.
