MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Smooth the climb
A good takeoff has a defined shape. It also has a defined end. For an airliner that's thrust reduction and acceleration, commonly somewhere around 1,000 to 1,500 ft above the airfield depending on the operator, while for a light aircraft it's established at Vy with the flaps on schedule. Most simmers have no defined end to their takeoff, which is exactly why it never gets judged.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,352 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 80 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a departure roll from runway 13 at HTSH Mafinga Airport. The aircraft, a TBM 930, took off with a takeoff distance of 798 meters, which was 60% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 86 knots. The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 21 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 0 knots from a direction of 232 degrees.
As the aircraft climbed away from the airport, it began its enroute climb 1 mile south east of HTSH Mafinga Airport. The climb started from an altitude of 6,548 feet above sea level and continued to an altitude of 16,002 feet above sea level, an increase of 9,454 feet in just 8 minutes. During this climb, the aircraft covered a distance of 26 nautical miles.
After reaching the desired cruising altitude, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started 14 miles south west of HTOR Ng'Wazi Airport. This phase of the flight lasted for 9 minutes and covered a distance of 43 nautical miles.
As the aircraft approached its destination, it began its enroute descent 7 miles south of HTRU Mbarali Airport. The descent started from an altitude of 16,000 feet above sea level and continued to an altitude of 10,712 feet above sea level, a decrease of 5,288 feet in just 7 minutes. During this descent, the aircraft covered a distance of 31 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, which started 3 miles north east of Ulenje. This phase of the flight lasted for 2 minutes and covered a distance of 7 nautical miles.
As the aircraft continued its descent, it began its final approach to runway 27 at HTGW Songwe Airport from the east. The aircraft was heading 271.0 degrees at an altitude of 1,635 feet above ground level and a distance of 4 nautical miles from the runway.
The landing was successful, with the aircraft touching down on the runway at a speed of 58 knots. The touchdown distance was good at 74 meters, and the touchdown rate was good at -153 feet per minute. The runway touchdown alignment was very good, and the local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 16 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 0 knots from a direction of 254 degrees.
After landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, which took less than 1 minute and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 127 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 36 minutes. The aircraft used a total of 117 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The TBM 930 aircraft successfully landed at HTGW Songwe Airport, achieving a score of 95.5%. The final approach to runway 27 was conducted from the east, with a heading of 271.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,635 feet above ground level.
The landing was executed with precision, with the aircraft touching down on the runway at a speed of 58 knots, which was well below the target threshold speed. This indicates that the pilot maintained control and avoided stalling the aircraft, demonstrating excellent flying skills.
The touchdown distance of 74 meters was also satisfactory, indicating that the pilot had a good sense of spatial awareness and was able to bring the aircraft down smoothly. The touchdown speed of 58 knots was also within the acceptable range, and the touchdown rate of -153 feet per minute was good, indicating a controlled descent.
The runway touchdown alignment was very good, suggesting that the pilot had a clear understanding of the aircraft's position and was able to align it with the runway centerline. The local weather conditions were favorable, with a temperature of 16°C and a wind speed of 0 knots, which made the landing even more challenging.
The total landing distance of 1,113 meters was 33% of the runway length, indicating that the pilot had a good sense of the aircraft's performance and was able to bring it to a stop within a reasonable distance. The runway rollout alignment was also very good, suggesting that the pilot had maintained control of the aircraft during the rollout phase.
Overall, the landing was a success, with the pilot demonstrating excellent flying skills and a good understanding of the aircraft's performance. The score of 95.5% reflects the high level of proficiency and attention to detail displayed by the pilot during the landing.
