Arrival
Time the turn onto base by bank angle so you roll out at the proper 45 degree angle to the runway, not sooner or later.
What happened: The turn from downwind onto base was rolled out at the wrong angle to the runway rather than the intended 45 degree join.
Watch for: Watch your angle to the runway through the base turn, aiming to roll out at 45 degrees.
Bank angle in the pattern is conventionally kept to 20 to 30 degrees, and the base-to-final turn is where that convention earns its keep. Stall speed rises with bank because the wing must produce more lift in a turn. Roughly 7 per cent higher at 30 degrees, about 19 per cent at 45, and around 40 per cent at 60. At 65 kt on base you don't have much margin to spend steepening a turn to salvage an overshoot.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate for a circuit: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate is an instrument-approach check and does not apply.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,490 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 355 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The TL3000 Sirius performed its departure roll on runway 23 at EHGG Groningen Airport Eelde, using a take-off distance of 267 m which represents 11 % of the available runway. Liftoff was achieved at 66 kt. Ambient conditions were 15 °C with a wind of 2 kt from 270°, including a 1 kt cross-wind component and a 2 kt head-wind component.
During the approach the aircraft entered a left-hand pattern from runway 23, covering 1 nm in 27 seconds. The subsequent left-hand cross-wind segment was less than 1 nm and lasted 22 seconds. The downwind turn spanned 1 nm with a 45° angle to the runway and a measured heading of 68.4°. The downwind leg extended 2 nm and was completed in 78 seconds. The base-leg turn again covered 1 nm at a 45° angle, this time with a heading of 63.6°, followed by a base-leg segment of less than 1 nm in 55 seconds. The final turn to the runway was less than 1 nm and took 29 seconds.
Landing was executed on runway 23, whose total length is 2 490 m. The threshold speed was recorded at 52 kt. Touchdown occurred 355 m down the runway at a speed of 42 kt, with a vertical speed of minus 34 fpm and excellent alignment. The total landing distance measured 466 m, representing 19 % of the runway length.
Runway rollout alignment was described as perfect, confirming the aircraft remained on the centreline throughout the deceleration phase.
In total, the flight covered 8nm, took 6 (as reported), and consumed 1 kg of fuel.
The final approach to runway 36 at EDFB Reichelsheim Airfield was conducted with a descent from 454 ft agl to 30 ft agl in 45 seconds and was scored on the stabilisation gates. Local weather was 20 °C with wind 2 kt from 083°, a 2 kt cross-wind component and no head-wind.
At threshold the height was good and the threshold speed was slightly below target at 72 kt.
Touchdown occurred 281 m down the runway at a speed of 61 kt, with a vertical rate of minus 57 fpm and a lateral deviation of 5.3 m from the centreline.
The rollout covered a total distance of 710 m, representing 55 % of the 1 293 m runway, and runway rollout alignment was very good.
Fine-tune the approach speed to meet the target value and make small adjustments to maintain centreline alignment within a tighter tolerance; the overall performance was strong with a score of 87.2 %.
