MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Arrival
Begin the flare with progressive back pressure and keep it coming until the sink is arrested, rather than flying it on flat.
What happened: The nose was barely raised in the flare and little of the sink was taken out, flying the aircraft onto the runway. This pattern usually carries through to a firm touchdown with a noticeable sink rate.
Watch for: Vertical speed indicator: a smoothly reducing sink through the normal flare band, not a steady rate into the runway.
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway. They are the approach's score: the checks passed out of the checks that ran.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 2,004 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 2,004 m of the 3,412 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 914 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
A Boeing 777F departed from Hong Kong International Airport (VHHH) on runway 25C, taking off into a local temperature of 33 °C and a wind of 3 kt at 265 °. The aircraft lifted off at a speed of 187 kt, utilizing 62% of the 3,390-meter runway. Following a short taxiing period of 8 minutes, covering 4 nautical miles, the aircraft began its enroute climb, rising from 1,007 feet above sea level to 29,680 feet in 23 minutes, a vertical gain of 28,673 feet, and covering 156 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered a level cruise phase, maintaining an altitude of 29,680 feet for 164 minutes, covering 1,429 nautical miles. This was followed by a series of enroute climbs and level cruises, with the aircraft ascending to higher altitudes and then maintaining those altitudes for extended periods. Notably, the aircraft climbed from 29,999 feet to 31,425 feet in just 2 minutes, covering 15 nautical miles, and then from 32,000 feet to 33,756 feet in a similar timeframe, covering 14 nautical miles. The aircraft's level cruise phases lasted for several hours, with the longest lasting 220 minutes, covering 1,910 nautical miles.
As the aircraft approached its destination, O.R. Tambo International Airport (FAOR), it began its descent, dropping from 35,996 feet to 6,792 feet in 17 minutes, a vertical loss of 29,204 feet, and covering 93 nautical miles. The aircraft then lined up for a final approach to runway 03R, touching down 503 meters beyond the touchdown zone at a speed of 135 kt. The total landing distance was 1,928 meters, 57% of the 3,412-meter runway. Following a taxiing period of 6 minutes, covering 2 nautical miles, the aircraft came to a stop, having completed a total flight distance of 5,909 nautical miles in 742 minutes, using 108,463 kilograms of fuel.
The Boeing 777F touched down on runway 03R at O.R. Tambo International Airport, demonstrating a high level of proficiency in the landing phase. The approach quality was excellent, with a good threshold height and speed of 145 kt, indicating a well-executed flare and touchdown. The aircraft's touchdown point was 503 meters beyond the touchdown zone, which, although not ideal, was still within acceptable limits.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's speed was 135 kt, which was good, and the touchdown rate of -278 fpm was fair, suggesting a slight over-rotation. However, the runway touchdown alignment was very good, indicating that the pilot maintained a high degree of control during the landing. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 10 °C and a light headwind of 2 kt, did not pose any significant challenges to the landing.
The total landing distance of 1,928 meters, which accounted for 57% of the runway length, was within acceptable limits. The runway rollout alignment was also very good, demonstrating the pilot's ability to maintain control and align the aircraft with the centerline during the rollout phase. Overall, the landing was scored 92.6%, reflecting a high level of proficiency and control throughout the approach, touchdown, and rollout phases.
