Improve the taxi
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 899 m of the approach.
Plan view — the full 899 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 103 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a short taxiing period from the parking area to the runway, taking approximately 1 minute and covering less than 1 nautical mile. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-900, then departed from runway 07 at NTTR Raiatea Airport. The takeoff distance was 1,042 meters, which is 75% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 145 knots, and the local weather conditions at the time of departure were a temperature of 29°C, with a wind speed of 2 knots at 8°.
As the aircraft climbed to its cruising altitude, it started its enroute climb overhead Uturoa, Iles Sous-le-Vent, French Polynesia. The climb began at an altitude of 1,008 feet above sea level and reached a maximum altitude of 37,674 feet above sea level, an increase of 36,666 feet in just 30 minutes. During this time, the aircraft covered a distance of 188 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise phase of the flight lasted for 46 minutes and covered a distance of 1,042 nautical miles. The aircraft maintained a steady altitude and speed during this period, with a latitude of -16.9455764 and a longitude of -154.7340127.
As the aircraft approached its destination, it began its enroute descent 60 miles east of NFTV Vava'u International Airport, Vava'u Island, Tonga. The descent from 37,669 feet above sea level to 1,812 feet above sea level took just 10 minutes and covered a distance of 57 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 26 at NFTV Vava'u International Airport was made from the east, with a heading of 276.0° at an altitude of 1,568 feet above ground level and a distance of 4 nautical miles from the runway. The landing was successful, with a touchdown speed of 123 knots and a touchdown rate of -167 feet per minute. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, and the local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of 25°C, with a wind speed of 0 knots at 189°.
The total landing distance was 595 meters, which is 66% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was also perfect, indicating a smooth and controlled landing. The aircraft then taxied to the parking area, taking less than 1 minute and covering less than 1 nautical mile.
In total, the flight covered a distance of 1,293 nautical miles and took 91 minutes to complete. The aircraft used a total of 8,414 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 737-900 aircraft successfully landed at NFTV Vava'u International Airport, achieving a score of 99.9%. The final approach to runway 26 was conducted from the east, with a heading of 276.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,568 feet above ground level.
The aircraft touched down on the runway with a speed of 126 knots, which was slightly below the target threshold speed. However, this did not affect the overall performance of the landing, as the touchdown distance of 105 meters was considered good. The touchdown speed of 123 knots was also within acceptable limits, and the touchdown rate of -167 feet per minute was good, indicating a smooth and controlled descent.
The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were favorable, with a temperature of 25°C and a wind speed of 0 knots from a direction of 189°. This resulted in a crosswind and headwind of 0 knots, making the landing even more challenging and impressive.
The total landing distance of 595 meters was 66% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance considering the aircraft's size and weight. The runway rollout alignment was perfect, indicating that the aircraft was well under control during the landing and rollout phases.
Overall, the landing of the Boeing 737-900 at NFTV Vava'u International Airport was a success, with the aircraft performing well in terms of speed, distance, and alignment. The favorable weather conditions and the pilot's skillful handling of the aircraft contributed to this excellent result.
