MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Know your rotation speed
A typical trainer rotates in the mid-50s of knots - a 172 at around 55 KIAS, climbing out at a Vy in the low 70s, though check your own POH rather than memorising Cessna's numbers - and the transferable rule is that Vr sits just above the stall speed in takeoff configuration. Rotate early because "it felt ready" and the aircraft lifts off inside ground effect, where induced drag is reduced, then climbs out of it into more drag. On a marginal-performance day the result is an aircraft that lifts off and then refuses to climb, sagging back towards the runway.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,664 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,664 m of the 2,998 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 478 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight in question was operated by a Boeing 777-300 aircraft. The aircraft began its journey by taxiing from the parking area to the runway, a process that took 27 minutes and covered a distance of 4 nautical miles. The departure roll took place on runway 31L at John F. Kennedy International Airport (KJFK), with a takeoff distance of 709 meters, which is 25% of the runway length. The aircraft lifted off at a speed of 117 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of -0°C, with a wind speed of 7 knots at 240°. The crosswind component was 6 knots, while the headwind component was 3 knots. As the aircraft climbed to its cruising altitude, it encountered a series of enroute climbs and level cruises, with the first climb taking place overhead Howard Beach, New York, where the aircraft ascended from 1,019 feet above sea level to 29,466 feet above sea level, an increase of 28,446 feet in 17 minutes.
The aircraft then entered a level cruise, which lasted 31 minutes and covered a distance of 245 nautical miles. This was followed by another enroute climb, which took place 6 miles south-west of Lac-aux-Castors La Minerve, Quebec, Canada, where the aircraft ascended from 30,003 feet above sea level to 30,975 feet above sea level, an increase of 973 feet in 2 minutes.
The flight continued with a series of enroute climbs and level cruises, with the aircraft passing through various points in Canada and eventually entering Japanese airspace. The final approach to runway 34R at Tokyo Haneda International Airport (RJTT) was made from the south-east, with the aircraft descending from 4,314 feet above sea level to 1,420 feet above sea level in 3 minutes.
The landing was made on runway 34R, with a touchdown speed of 144 knots and a touchdown rate of -246 feet per minute. The touchdown point was 65 meters beyond the touchdown zone, and the runway touchdown position was misaligned by 14.7 meters from the centreline. The total landing distance was 1,586 meters, which is 53% of the runway length.
After landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, a process that took 16 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The total flight distance was 6,070 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 862 minutes. The aircraft used a total of 115,360 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 777-300 aircraft successfully landed at RJTT Tokyo Haneda International Airport on runway 34R, achieving a score of 92.9%. The final approach was initiated from the southeast, heading 330.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,362 feet above ground level (agl).
The aircraft touched down on the runway, with the threshold height being satisfactory. However, the threshold speed was slightly above the target speed of 146 kt, indicating a slight deviation from the optimal landing conditions. The touchdown point was located 65 meters beyond the designated touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed of 144 kt was a little faster than desired. The touchdown rate of -246 feet per minute (fpm) was considered fair.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 3°C, with a wind speed of 8 kt from a direction of 100°. This resulted in a crosswind of 6 kt and a tailwind of 5 kt. The runway length at RJTT Tokyo Haneda International Airport is 2,998 meters, which is sufficient for the Boeing 777-300 aircraft.
The total landing distance covered by the aircraft was 1,586 meters, accounting for 53% of the runway length. This indicates that the aircraft was able to stop within a reasonable distance after touchdown. However, the runway touchdown position was misaligned by 14.7 meters from the centerline, and the runway rollout alignment was also slightly misaligned by the same distance. These minor deviations from the optimal alignment may require further attention to ensure smoother and more precise landings in the future.
