Maintain the centreline
A small uncorrected heading error at 40 knots becomes a metre of offset per second by 100 knots, noticed only at rotation, producing a crabbed liftoff. Root cause is nearly always eyes on the tape instead of the far end of the runway. Small heading changes displace a distant point visibly long before the nearby centreline stripes look wrong.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,766 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 577 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Departing from Minsk National Airport, the Boeing 737-800 initiated its enroute climb from a starting altitude of 1,606 feet above sea level, gradually increasing to 15,992 feet asl over a distance of 29 nautical miles in 6 minutes. This initial climb phase was followed by a brief enroute level cruise, lasting 2 minutes and covering 10 nautical miles, as the aircraft transitioned to a new altitude. The second enroute climb phase commenced overhead Rakaw, Belarus, and saw the aircraft ascend to 35,986 feet asl, an increase of 19,991 feet in 14 minutes, covering a distance of 99 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered a prolonged enroute level cruise phase, lasting 90 minutes and covering a significant 643 nautical miles, as it traversed the skies over Lithuania and into Germany. This cruise phase was punctuated by a brief enroute descent, initiated 2 miles northeast of Witten, Germany, where the aircraft descended from 36,001 feet asl to 26,150 feet asl in 7 minutes, covering 45 nautical miles. Following this descent, the aircraft entered another enroute level cruise phase, lasting 113 minutes and covering less than 1 nautical mile, as it prepared for its final approach to Brussels Airport.
The final approach to runway 19 at EBBR Brussels Airport was initiated from the north, with the aircraft descending from 25,747 feet asl to 1,504 feet asl in 22 minutes, covering 94 nautical miles. The touchdown point was 157 meters beyond the touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 136 knots and a touchdown rate of -182 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 4.2 meters from the centerline. The aircraft landed on a runway length of 2,722 meters, with a threshold height of 57 feet above ground level, slightly above target. The total landing distance was 1,264 meters, accounting for 46% of the runway length. Following a smooth taxiing process, the aircraft arrived at the parking area in 3 minutes, having covered a total distance of 927 nautical miles and consumed 6,036 kilograms of fuel.
The Boeing 737-800 touched down on runway 19 at EBBR Brussels Airport with a score of 90.2%. The aircraft approached the runway from the north, heading 194.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,347 feet above ground level. The final approach quality was satisfactory, with a threshold height of 57 feet above ground level, slightly above the target. The threshold speed was good at 141 knots, indicating a well-executed approach.
The aircraft touched down 157 meters beyond the touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 136 knots, which was a little fast. However, the touchdown rate of -182 feet per minute was good, indicating a controlled descent. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 4.2 meters from the centreline, which may have been due to the crosswind component of 8 knots. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 12°C and wind at 18 knots from 220°, contributed to the landing.
The total landing distance of 1,264 meters was 46% of the runway length, which is within acceptable limits. The runway rollout alignment was very good, indicating a smooth and controlled deceleration. Overall, the landing was satisfactory, with some minor deviations from the ideal performance.
