Monitor your taxi speed
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 6,582 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 6,582 ft of the 13,078 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 2,695 ft past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight onboard the Boeing 777-300 began with a 9-minute taxi from the parking area to the runway at KBOS Logan International Airport in Boston. The departure roll on runway 04R covered 4,722 ft, making up 62% of the runway length, before reaching a liftoff speed of 194 kn. The local weather at departure was 78 °F with a wind of 11 kn at 60 °, resulting in a crosswind of 7 kn and a headwind of 8 kn.
The enroute climb commenced over Winthrop, Massachusetts, ascending from 1,077 ft asl to 38,570 ft asl, covering 122 nm in 18 minutes. The level cruise phase started 60 miles southeast of Matinicus Island, Maine, lasting 321 minutes and covering 3,090 nm. The descent phase began 1 mile west of Rudenau, Bavaria, descending from 39,342 ft asl to 7,941 ft asl in 18 minutes, covering 115 nm.
Following another brief level cruise segment over Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm, Bavaria, the final descent phase started 1 mile north of the same location, descending from 7,497 ft asl to 3,452 ft asl in 4 minutes, covering 13 nm. The landing on runway 08L at EDDM Munich Airport was achieved with an approach speed of 139 kn and a touchdown speed of 128 kn. The touchdown occurred 2,698 ft from the threshold, with a VSI of -193 ft/m.
Upon landing, the total landing distance covered was 6,327 ft, which accounted for 48% of the runway length. The taxiing from the runway to the parking area took 2 minutes. The total flight distance amounted to 3,354 nm, requiring 1,310 minutes of flight time and consuming 89,727 lbs of fuel. The local weather at the destination indicated a temperature of 61 °F with a wind of 5 kn at 329 °, resulting in a crosswind of 5 kn and a tailwind of 2 kn.
Overall, a landing score of 93.9% is quite impressive and indicates a high level of proficiency in aircraft landing.
In the Approach Phase, it is noted that the glideslope alignment was excellent. This suggests that the aircraft was descending towards the runway at the correct angle, which is crucial for a safe and smooth landing. Maintaining proper glideslope alignment ensures that the aircraft is on the correct descent path and helps in minimizing the risk of overshooting or undershooting the runway.
Moving on to the Landing Phase, it is mentioned that the threshold height was slightly above target and there was a very poor landing flare. Threshold height is important as it indicates the point at which the aircraft is crossing over the runway threshold. A slightly higher threshold height may have affected the touchdown point and could have led to a longer landing distance. Additionally, a poor landing flare refers to the lack of a smooth transition from descent to touchdown, which can result in a hard landing.
In the Touchdown Phase, it is noted that the touchdown rate was good, and the speed was on target. A good touchdown rate suggests that the aircraft made contact with the runway in a controlled manner, which is essential for a safe landing. However, the touchdown point being 1340 ft beyond the touchdown zone indicates that the aircraft touched down further along the runway than desired. Additionally, the runway touchdown position being 17 ft from the centreline could have implications for runway safety and efficiency.
Finally, in the Rollout Phase, it is mentioned that the runway alignment was 16 ft from the centreline. Maintaining proper runway alignment ensures that the aircraft remains on the centreline during rollout, which is vital for safe taxiing and clearances.
Overall, while the landing score of 93.9% is commendable, there are areas for improvement identified in the landing analysis. Focus areas may include improving threshold height, executing a smoother landing flare, ensuring proper touchdown point and alignment, and enhancing runway alignment during rollout. By addressing these areas, the overall landing performance can be further optimized for future flights.
