Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 5,000 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,000 ft of the 10,305 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 1,770 ft past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 21 minutes and covered a distance of 6 nautical miles. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-700, then departed from runway 07 at KDEN Denver International Airport. The takeoff distance was 5,034 feet, which accounted for 42% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 145 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 40°F and a wind speed of 2 knots at 310°. The crosswind and tailwind components were both 2 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, starting 1 mile south of KDEN Denver International Airport and climbing from 6,370 feet above sea level to 40,913 feet above sea level, an increase of 34,542 feet in 21 minutes and covering a distance of 149 nautical miles.
Following the enroute climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started 9 miles southeast of 5KS2 Fortmeyer Airport in Goodland, Kansas. This phase lasted for 13 minutes and covered a distance of 98 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, starting 10 miles northeast of Bazine, Kansas, and descending from 40,878 feet above sea level to 3,971 feet above sea level, a decrease of 36,908 feet in 18 minutes and covering a distance of 102 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, which started overhead Cheney, Kansas, and lasted for 3 minutes, covering a distance of 10 nautical miles. The enroute descent phase began again, this time starting 4 miles south of KS65 Lake Waltanna in Kansas, and descending from 3,822 feet above sea level to 3,138 feet above sea level, a decrease of 684 feet in 2 minutes and covering a distance of 4 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, which started 2 miles west of Clearwater, Kansas, and lasted for 3 minutes, covering a distance of 6 nautical miles. The final approach to runway 01L at KICT Wichita Eisenhower National Airport was made from the south, with a heading of 20.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,251 feet above ground level.
The landing on runway 01L was successful, with a touchdown point 409 feet beyond the touchdown zone. The touchdown speed was slightly above the target at 136 knots, but the touchdown rate was excellent at -84 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 11 feet from the centerline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 43°F and a wind speed of 7 knots at 340°, with a crosswind component of 4 knots and a headwind component of 5 knots.
The total landing distance was 4,187 feet, which accounted for 41% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was very good. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 4 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 380 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 82 minutes. The aircraft used 6,401 pounds of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 737-700 aircraft successfully landed at KICT Wichita Eisenhower National Airport, achieving a score of 98.5%. The final approach to runway 01L was conducted from the south, with a heading of 20.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,251 feet above ground level.
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down on the runway, with the threshold height being satisfactory. However, the threshold speed was slightly above the target speed of 136 knots, indicating a slight deviation from the optimal landing speed. The touchdown point was located 409 feet beyond the designated touchdown zone, which may be attributed to the slightly fast touchdown speed of 127 knots. Despite this, the touchdown rate was excellent, with a rate of -84 feet per minute.
The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned from the centerline by 11 feet, which may have been caused by factors such as wind or pilot error. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 43°F, with a wind speed of 7 knots from a direction of 340°. The crosswind component was 4 knots, while the headwind component was 5 knots.
The total landing distance of 4,187 feet was 41% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance considering the aircraft's size and weight. The runway rollout alignment was very good, indicating that the pilot maintained control of the aircraft during the rollout phase. Overall, the landing was successful, with the aircraft coming to a stop in a relatively short distance and with minimal deviation from the centerline.
