MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,005 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 546 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the F-35C Lightning taxiing from the parking area to the runway at EPOK Oksywie Military Air Base, taking 7 minutes and covering a distance of 2 nautical miles. The aircraft then departed from runway 31, with a takeoff distance of 1,087 meters, which accounted for 44% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 207 knots.
As the aircraft took off, it encountered local weather conditions of 17°C temperature and a wind speed of 7 knots at 258 degrees. The crosswind was 6 knots, while the headwind was 3 knots. After taking off, the enroute climb started overhead Pierwoszyno in the Pomeranian Voivodeship, Poland. The aircraft climbed from an altitude of 1,172 feet above sea level to 21,708 feet above sea level, an increase of 20,537 feet in just 5 minutes, covering a distance of 29 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise began 11 miles northwest of Wierzchucino in the Pomeranian Voivodeship, Poland, and lasted for 25 minutes, covering a distance of 238 nautical miles. The aircraft then started its enroute descent 8 miles west of EK68 Omoe in Region Sjaelland, Denmark. The descent from 21,809 feet above sea level to 2,106 feet above sea level, a decrease of 19,703 feet in 8 minutes, covered a distance of 41 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started again 7 miles southeast of Haderslev in Region Syddanmark, Denmark, and lasted for 3 minutes, covering a distance of 10 nautical miles. The final approach to runway 28R at EKSP Skrydstrup Air Base was made from the east, heading 285.0 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 770 feet above ground level.
The landing on runway 28R at EKSP Skrydstrup Air Base was successful, with a runway length of 3,005 meters. The threshold height was good, but the threshold speed was slightly above the target at 175 knots. The touchdown point was 128 meters beyond the touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 139 knots, which was good. However, the touchdown rate was fair at -220 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was misaligned by 8.4 meters from the centreline.
The local weather conditions during landing were 11°C temperature and a wind speed of 15 knots at 270 degrees. The crosswind was 4 knots, while the headwind was 15 knots. The total landing distance was 1,079 meters, which accounted for 36% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 7.9 meters from the centreline.
After landing, the aircraft taxiied to the parking area from the runway, taking 1 minute and covering a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 327 nautical miles, taking 49 minutes, and the aircraft used 5,100 kilograms of fuel.
The F-35C Lightning aircraft successfully landed at EKSP Skrydstrup Air Base, achieving a score of 94.2%. The final approach to runway 28R was initiated from the east, heading 285.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 770 feet above ground level.
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down on the runway, with the threshold height being satisfactory. However, the threshold speed was slightly above the target speed of 175 kt. The touchdown point was located 128 meters beyond the designated touchdown zone, which may indicate a slight deviation from the intended landing path.
The touchdown speed of 139 kt was within the acceptable range, indicating a good control of the aircraft during the landing phase. Nevertheless, the touchdown rate of -220 fpm was only fair, suggesting that the aircraft may have experienced a slightly higher rate of descent than desired.
During the landing, the aircraft's runway touchdown position was misaligned by 8.4 meters from the centerline, which may have been caused by a slight deviation in the approach path or a miscalculation of the aircraft's position. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 11°C and a wind speed of 15 kt at 270°, may have contributed to this deviation.
The total landing distance of 1,079 meters was 36% of the runway length, which is within the acceptable range. However, the runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 7.9 meters from the centerline, indicating that the aircraft may have experienced some difficulty in maintaining a straight course during the rollout phase.
Overall, the landing was successful, but there were some minor deviations from the ideal landing parameters. These deviations can be attributed to a combination of factors, including the aircraft's performance, the pilot's skills, and the local weather conditions.
