MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,366 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 493 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the departure of a Cessna 408 SkyCourier Cargo aircraft from Kawaihapai Airfield, also known as PHDH. The aircraft rolled out on runway 08, covering 29% of the runway's length, and took off with a liftoff speed of 98 knots. The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 25°C and a wind speed of 8 knots from a direction of 87°, resulting in a headwind of 8 knots.
As the aircraft climbed away from the airfield, it began its enroute climb, reaching an altitude of 8,739 feet above sea level (asl) in just 5 minutes. This climb phase covered a distance of 9 nautical miles (nm) and involved an increase in altitude of 7,664 feet. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, starting from an altitude of 8,735 feet asl and descending to 3,017 feet asl in 9 minutes, covering a distance of 19 nm.
The aircraft continued its journey, initiating another enroute climb 8 miles north of the AG15 Amphibious Ready Group - Hawaii. This climb phase saw the aircraft ascend from 3,019 feet asl to 3,833 feet asl in just 2 minutes, covering a distance of 4 nm. The aircraft then began its final enroute descent, starting from an altitude of 3,988 feet asl and descending to 1,288 feet asl in 5 minutes, covering a distance of 10 nm.
As the aircraft approached its destination, PHNG Kaneohe Bay MCAS (Marion E. Carl Field) Airport, it began its final approach to runway 22 from the north-east. The aircraft was heading 231.0° at a distance of 4 nm from the runway and at an altitude of 1,266 feet above ground level (agl). The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 26°C and a wind speed of 5 knots from a direction of 84°, resulting in a tailwind of 4 knots.
The aircraft landed on runway 22, which had a length of 2,366 meters. The threshold height at 101 feet agl was excessively over target, while the threshold speed was slightly above target at 96 knots. The touchdown distance was good at 446 meters, and the touchdown speed was also good at 81 knots. However, the touchdown rate was fair at -260 feet per minute (fpm). The runway touchdown position was misaligned by 10.7 meters from the centreline.
Following the landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area from the runway, covering a distance of less than 1 nm in 1 minute. The total landing distance was 661 meters, which accounted for 28% of the runway's length. The runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 10.3 meters from the centreline. The total flight distance was 48 nm, and the flight duration was 27 minutes. The aircraft used 145 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The aircraft, a Cessna 408 SkyCourier Cargo, successfully landed at PHNG Kaneohe Bay MCAS (Marion E. Carl Field) Airport, with a score of 79.5%. The final approach was initiated from the north-east, heading 231.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,266 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft was on a steady course for runway 22, which has a length of 2,366 meters.
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down at a speed of 81 knots, which was within the acceptable range. The touchdown distance of 446 meters was also considered good. However, the touchdown rate of -260 feet per minute (fpm) was only fair, indicating that the aircraft could have been brought down more smoothly. The runway touchdown position was slightly off-center, deviating by 10.7 meters from the centerline.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 26°C and a gentle wind of 5 knots from 84°. The crosswind component was minimal at 2 knots, while the tailwind component was 4 knots. These conditions likely contributed to the smooth landing, despite the slight misalignment of the runway touchdown position.
After touchdown, the aircraft's rollout alignment was also slightly off-center, deviating by 10.3 meters from the centerline. However, the total landing distance of 661 meters was only 28% of the runway length, indicating that the aircraft was able to stop quickly and safely. Overall, the landing was considered successful, despite some minor deviations from the ideal touchdown and rollout positions.
