Smooth the climb
A good takeoff has a defined shape. It also has a defined end. For an airliner that's thrust reduction and acceleration, commonly somewhere around 1,000 to 1,500 ft above the airfield depending on the operator, while for a light aircraft it's established at Vy with the flaps on schedule. Most simmers have no defined end to their takeoff, which is exactly why it never gets judged.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with six checks at 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway. They are the approach's score: the checks passed out of the checks that ran.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 772 m of the approach.
Plan view — the full 772 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 124 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The aircraft taxied to runway 22 at EGHN Isle of Wight / Sandown Airport and commenced the take-off roll, covering 190 m which represented 21 % of the available runway. Liftoff was achieved at 43 kt. Ambient conditions were 15 °C with a wind of 2 kt from 270°, including a 1 kt cross-wind component and a 1 kt head-wind component.
Climb began directly overhead the departure field, with the aeroplane ascending from 486 ft asl to 989 ft asl - a gain of 503 ft - in 1 minute while traversing 1 nm.
Level cruise was established over Newchurch, lasting 3 minutes and covering a distance of 4 nm before the descent phase was initiated.
During the final-approach descent the aircraft reduced altitude from 622 ft agl to 5 ft agl in 60 seconds, meeting the required stabilisation-gate criteria.
The subsequent final approach was directed to runway 12 at EGHJ Bembridge Airport.
Landing was executed on runway 12, whose length is 772 m. The threshold speed was slightly below the target at 37 kt. Touchdown occurred 121 m down the runway at 25 kt with a vertical speed of minus 33 fpm, and the touchdown point was offset 3.5 m from the centreline. Local weather at the destination was 20 °C with a wind of 3 kt from 223°, a 3 kt cross-wind component and a 1 kt tail-wind component. Total landing distance measured 207 m, representing 27 % of the runway.
Rollout proceeded with runway-alignment judged very good, confirming the aircraft remained on the centreline throughout the deceleration phase.
In total the flight covered 7 nm, took 14 minutes, and consumed 2 kg of fuel.
The Taylorcraft BC-12D entered the final approach to runway 12 at EGHJ Bembridge Airport, descending from 622 ft AGL to 5 ft AGL in 60 seconds and was scored on the stabilisation gates.
At threshold the aircraft maintained a good height, while the threshold speed was a little below target at 37 kt.
Touchdown occurred 121 m down the runway at 25 kt, with a perfect vertical rate of minus 33 fpm; the touchdown point was slightly off centreline by 3.5 m.
The rollout covered a total of 207 m, representing 27 % of the 772 m runway, and runway-rollout alignment was very good.
To tighten performance, aim for the exact target threshold speed and refine centre-line tracking to reduce the 3.5 m offset.
