Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,694 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 273 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The Boeing 737-800 flight took off from LFML Marseille Provence Airport on Runway 13R. The taxi from the parking area to the runway took 7 minutes, covering a distance of 1 nm. The departure roll on the runway covered 4,188 ft, which was 54% of the total runway length. The liftoff speed was 161 kn.
During the climb phase, the aircraft started the ascent overhead Saint-Victoret, climbing from 1,103 ft above sea level to 30,276 ft, covering a total distance of 111 nm in 18 minutes. The enroute level cruise began overhead Vocance and lasted for 30 minutes, covering 215 nm.
The descent phase commenced 1 mile southwest of Dampierre-sur-Boutonne, descending from 29,420 ft to 1,852 ft, covering 83 nm in 20 minutes. The landing took place on Runway 21 at LFRS Nantes Atlantique Airport. The touchdown speed was 148 kn, with a VSI of -352 ft/m. The landing distance was 3,684 ft, which was 42% of the runway length. The total flight distance traveled was 417 nm, taking 113 minutes. The aircraft consumed 8,430 lbs of fuel throughout the flight.
Overall, the flight was smooth with normal weather conditions, including a temperature of 60-64 °F and varying wind speeds. The landing and taxiing processes were also completed without any issues.
Overall, the aircraft landing score of 98.0% is impressive and indicates a high level of proficiency during the various phases of the landing process.
During the Approach Phase, the excellent glideslope alignment is commendable as it ensures a smooth descent towards the runway. The slightly above-target speed suggests that adjustments were made effectively to maintain a stable approach.
In the Landing Phase, the good threshold height and very good landing flare demonstrate a precise touchdown technique. However, the poor bank angle stability during landing is an area that could be improved upon in future landings.
Moving on to the Touchdown Phase, the hard touchdown rate and slightly above target speed could be indicators of a slightly firm landing. Nonetheless, the touchdown distance inside the touchdown zone and the runway touchdown position being very good show good control during this critical phase of the landing.
It is worth mentioning that landing with a 16 kn crosswind is no easy feat, so landing successfully under these conditions is a notable achievement.
Finally, in the Rollout Phase, the runway alignment being 3.3 m from the centerline could be improved upon in terms of centering the aircraft during the rollout process.
Overall, this landing performance demonstrates a high level of skill and proficiency, with strong elements such as precise touchdown positioning and excellent glideslope alignment. There are areas for improvement, such as bank angle stability and runway alignment, but with continued practice and attention to these details, even higher landing scores can be achieved in the future. Keep up the good work!
