Improve the pattern downwind leg
The 45-degrees-behind-the-wing cue assumes you can turn your head and use peripheral vision. Downwind spacing cues like "put the wingtip halfway up the strut" assume a fixed, known eyepoint. Neither survives a monitor unmodified. If you fly on a fixed monitor, stop pretending and fly a numbers-based circuit.

One stabilised approach gate for a circuit: six checks at the point nearest 500 ft above the runway after the base turn. The 1,000 ft gate is an instrument-approach check and does not apply.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,490 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 329 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The aircraft departed EHGG Groningen Airport Eelde on runway 23, initiating the take-off roll. The take-off distance recorded was 689 m, representing 28 % of the available runway, and liftoff was achieved at 112 kt. Ambient conditions were 12 °C with a wind of 1 kt from 169°, resulting in a crosswind component of 1 kt and no headwind.
During the approach phase the aircraft entered a left-hand pattern on runway 23, covering less than 1 nm in 25 seconds for the entry segment and less than 1 nm in 16 seconds on the subsequent left-hand crosswind leg. The downwind turn spanned 2 nm with an angle to the runway of 85.7°, followed by a 2 nm downwind leg completed in 48 seconds. The base-leg turn covered 1 nm with an angle to the runway of 8.7°. The final approach was flown from the north-east on a heading of 224.0°, intercepting the final approach fix at 1 nm and 473 ft AGL.
Landing was executed on runway 23, whose length is 2 493 m. The threshold speed was 108 kt, and touchdown occurred 331 m down the runway at 95 kt with a vertical speed of minus 93 fpm. Runway alignment at touchdown was reported as perfect, and the local weather remained 12 °C with a 1 kt wind from 169°, crosswind 1 kt and headwind 0 kt.
In total the flight covered 7 nm, required 4 minutes of elapsed time, and consumed 3 kg of fuel.
The Legacy Analog GTN750XI Turbo Steering made its final approach to runway 23 at EHGG Groningen Airport Eelde from the north-east, tracking a heading of 224.0° at 1 NM and 473 ft AGL. Local weather was 12 °C with a wind of 1 kt from 169°, a crosswind component of 1 kt and no headwind.
At the threshold the height was good and the threshold speed was good at 108 kt, indicating an appropriate energy state for the flare.
Touchdown occurred at a distance of 331 m, which was judged good, with a touchdown speed of 95 kt rated good and a touchdown rate of minus 93 fpm described as excellent. Runway touchdown alignment was perfect.
With a final score of 94.2% the landing was strong; concentrate on keeping the touchdown point consistently near the 300 m (1,000 ft) aim point to tighten distance variance. Fine-tuning flare timing will help preserve the excellent vertical rate while maintaining optimal touchdown placement.
