MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,714 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,714 m of the 2,996 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 605 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight in question was operated by AIR TRANSAT, with the aircraft registration C-GCKU. The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 11 minutes and covered a distance of 3 nautical miles. The aircraft then departed from runway 11 at LGSA Chania International Airport, with a takeoff distance of 2,197 meters, which is 66% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 167 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 20°C, with a wind speed of 8 knots at 59°. The crosswind was 7 knots, and the headwind was 5 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, starting 1 mile south east of Mouzouras, Crete, Greece. The climb took 22 minutes, covering a distance of 91 nautical miles, and resulted in an increase in altitude from 1,427 feet to 34,602 feet.
The enroute level cruise started 19 miles north east of Gefyra, Peloponnese, Greece, and lasted for 14 minutes, covering a distance of 182 nautical miles. The aircraft then began another climb, starting 7 miles west of Kalandra, Central Macedonia, Greece. This climb took 2 minutes, covering a distance of 25 nautical miles, and resulted in an increase in altitude from 34,545 feet to 36,308 feet.
The enroute level cruise then started overhead Mesimeri, Central Macedonia, Greece, and lasted for 5 minutes, covering a distance of 142 nautical miles. The aircraft then began another climb, starting 3 miles north west of Klokot, Gjilan District, Kosovo. This climb took 2 minutes, covering a distance of 43 nautical miles, and resulted in an increase in altitude from 36,245 feet to 36,837 feet.
The enroute descent started 10 miles west of Visoka, Central Serbia, Serbia, and resulted in a decrease in altitude from 37,042 feet to 36,270 feet. The aircraft then began another level cruise, starting 14 miles north east of Leposaviq, Mitrovica District, Kosovo, and lasted for 45 minutes, covering a distance of 702 nautical miles.
The enroute descent then started 14 miles north of Rogowo, West Pomeranian Voivodeship, Poland, and resulted in a decrease in altitude from 36,224 feet to 4,585 feet. The aircraft then began another level cruise, starting 4 miles west of Skanoer med Falsterbo, Skane County, Sweden, and lasted for 2 minutes, covering a distance of 6 nautical miles.
The enroute descent then started 8 miles north east of Store Heddinge, Region Sjaelland, Denmark, and resulted in a decrease in altitude from 4,308 feet to 1,824 feet. The aircraft then began another level cruise, starting 5 miles east of Koge, Region Sjaelland, Denmark, and lasted for 4 minutes, covering a distance of 9 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 04L at EKCH Copenhagen Kastrup Airport was made from the south west, with a heading of 41.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,273 feet above ground level. The landing was made on runway 04L, which has a length of 2,996 meters. The threshold height was above target, and the threshold speed was slightly above target.
The touchdown point was 180 meters beyond the touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 127 knots and a touchdown rate of -270 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 6.0 meters from the centreline.
The aircraft, FBW AIR TRANSAT C-GCKU, successfully landed on runway 04L at EKCH Copenhagen Kastrup Airport with a score of 87.8%. The final approach was initiated from the southwest, heading 41.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,273 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft touched down on the runway, which has a length of 2,996 meters.
The threshold height at 68 feet agl was above the target, indicating that the aircraft was slightly higher than desired at the point of touchdown. However, the threshold speed of 137 knots was only slightly above the target, suggesting that the pilot maintained control and managed the aircraft's speed effectively. The touchdown point was 180 meters beyond the touchdown zone, which may indicate a slight delay in the pilot's decision to touch down.
The touchdown speed of 127 knots was within the acceptable range, and the touchdown rate of -270 feet per minute (fpm) was fair. However, the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 6.0 meters from the centerline, which may have been due to a slight deviation in the pilot's alignment with the runway.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 0°C, with a wind speed of 16 knots at 79°. The crosswind component was 10 knots, while the headwind component was 13 knots. These conditions may have presented a challenge for the pilot, but they did not appear to significantly impact the landing.
The total landing distance was 1,624 meters, which is 54% of the runway length. This is a relatively short landing distance, indicating that the pilot managed the aircraft's speed and descent effectively. However, the runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 9.1 meters from the centerline, which may have been due to a slight deviation in the pilot's control of the aircraft during the rollout phase.
Overall, the landing was successful, and the pilot demonstrated good control and management of the aircraft throughout the approach and touchdown phases. However, there were some minor deviations from the target parameters, which may indicate areas for improvement in the pilot's technique.
