MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
At the 1,000 ft gate: gear still up and speed above the reference speed.
At the 500 ft gate: speed above the reference speed.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,956 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,956 m of the 2,495 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 873 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Departing from Nice-Côte d'Azur Airport, the Airbus A320 began its journey with a taxiing phase that lasted 15 minutes and covered a distance of 3 nautical miles. As the aircraft reached the runway, it initiated its departure roll on runway 04R, accelerating to a liftoff speed of 164 knots. The takeoff distance of 1,236 meters accounted for 42% of the runway length, with a local temperature of 18°C and wind conditions of 19 knots at 90°.
As the aircraft climbed to its enroute level, it reached an altitude of 33,424 feet above sea level, an increase of 32,451 feet from its initial altitude of 974 feet. This climb phase covered a distance of 115 nautical miles and took 18 minutes to complete. The aircraft then entered a 56-minute cruise phase, covering 331 nautical miles at a steady altitude. The descent phase that followed saw the aircraft lose 31,463 feet in altitude, descending from 33,404 feet to 1,941 feet in 20 minutes and covering 113 nautical miles. The aircraft then entered a brief level cruise phase, lasting 2 minutes and covering 4 nautical miles, before initiating its final descent phase.
As the aircraft approached London Gatwick Airport, it encountered a go-around situation on runway 08R, with a height of 16 feet above ground level. The aircraft then re-initiated its final approach, touching down on the runway at a speed of 126 knots and a touchdown rate of -304 feet per minute. The touchdown point was 455 meters beyond the touchdown zone, with a runway touchdown position that was slightly misaligned by 3.1 meters from the centerline. The total landing distance of 1,873 meters accounted for 75% of the runway length. Following the landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, taking 4 minutes to cover a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 603 nautical miles, taking 110 minutes and consuming 4,303 kilograms of fuel.
The final approach to runway 08R at EGKK London Gatwick Airport from the west was initiated at 4 nm and 1,238 ft above ground level, heading 77.0°. The approach quality was satisfactory, with a good threshold height achieved. However, the threshold speed was slightly above the target at 138 kt, indicating a slight deviation from the optimal landing speed.
The aircraft touched down 455 m beyond the touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 126 kt, which was a little fast. The touchdown rate was firm at -304 fpm, indicating a controlled descent. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 3.1 m from the centreline, which may have contributed to the slightly above-target threshold speed. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 9 °C and a wind of 9 kt at 20°, resulted in a crosswind of 8 kt and a headwind of 5 kt.
The total landing distance was 1,873 m, which was 75% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 13.9 m from the centreline, indicating a slight deviation from the optimal path. Despite these minor deviations, the overall landing performance was satisfactory, with a score of 86.3%.
