MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Know your rotation speed
A typical trainer rotates in the mid-50s of knots - a 172 at around 55 KIAS, climbing out at a Vy in the low 70s, though check your own POH rather than memorising Cessna's numbers - and the transferable rule is that Vr sits just above the stall speed in takeoff configuration. Rotate early because "it felt ready" and the aircraft lifts off inside ground effect, where induced drag is reduced, then climbs out of it into more drag. On a marginal-performance day the result is an aircraft that lifts off and then refuses to climb, sagging back towards the runway.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with six checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway. They are the approach's score: the checks passed out of the checks that ran.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 5,000 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,000 ft of the 8,856 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 1,745 ft past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The Cessna 750 Citation X taxied from the parking area to runway 04R at LFMN Nice-Côte d’Azur Airport in 11 minutes, covering 3 nm.
During the departure roll on runway 04R, the aircraft used 2,905 ft of runway, representing 30 % of the available length, and lifted off at 139 kt; local weather reported a temperature of 73 °F, wind 8 kt from 040°, with a 1 kt crosswind and an 8 kt headwind.
Climb commenced overhead LFMN, rising from 1,013 ft asl to 32,005 ft asl - an increase of 30,992 ft - in 13 minutes while covering 77 nm.
The first level-cruise segment began 2 mi north-west of Saint-Michel and lasted 27 minutes, during which the aircraft flew 192 nm.
Descent 1 started 2 mi north of Guillon, descending from 31,989 ft asl to 8,006 ft asl - a loss of 23,983 ft - in 13 minutes and covering 83 nm.
A second cruise phase over Choisy-en-Brie lasted 5 minutes and added 22 nm to the flight path.
Descent 2 began 1 mi south-east of Vinantes, dropping from 8,003 ft asl to 5,381 ft asl - a decrease of 2,622 ft - in 5 minutes while traveling 22 nm.
The third cruise segment over Le Mesnil-en-Thelle lasted 3 minutes and covered 14 nm.
Descent 3 was initiated 1 mi south-west of Pierrelaye, falling from 5,009 ft asl to 1,633 ft asl - a loss of 3,376 ft - in 5 minutes and spanning 14 nm.
On final approach to runway 08R at LFPG Charles de Gaulle International Airport, the aircraft descended from 1,329 ft agl to 58 ft agl in 119 seconds and was scored on the stabilisation gates.
Landing on runway 08R, whose total length is 8,856 ft, the threshold height at 62 ft agl was above target and the threshold speed of 107 kt was slightly below target; touchdown occurred 350 ft beyond the touchdown zone at 102 kt with a firm rate of minus 356 fpm, and the touchdown point was offset 18 ft from the centreline. Local weather at the time was 63 °F with wind 5 kt from 120°, a 3 kt crosswind and a 4 kt headwind.
The rollout distance measured 3,267 ft, representing 37 % of the runway, and the aircraft’s alignment during rollout was off centreline by 32 ft.
Taxi-in from the runway to the parking area required 21 minutes and covered 5 nm.
In total, the flight covered 438 nm, took 102, and consumed 2,731 lbs of fuel.
The Cessna 750 Citation X executed a stabilised approach to runway 08R at LFPG, with gear, flaps, sink rate, glideslope, centreline and speed all within limits as assessed at the 1,000 ft gate. The aircraft descended from 1,329 ft AGL to 58 ft AGL in 119 seconds and was scored on the stabilisation gates.
At the threshold the height of 62 ft AGL was above the target and the threshold speed of 107 kt was a little below the target. The touchdown point was recorded 350 ft beyond the touchdown zone.
Touchdown occurred at a speed of 102 kt, described as good, with a firm vertical rate of minus 356 fpm. The touchdown position was slightly off centreline by 18 ft, and the total landing distance was 3,267 ft, representing 37 % of the runway. Local conditions were 63 °F, wind 5 kt from 120°, with a 3 kt crosswind component and a 4 kt headwind.
During rollout the aircraft remained slightly misaligned, drifting 32 ft from the centreline.
Minor refinements are advised to bring the touchdown point within the designated zone and to tighten centreline alignment on touchdown and rollout, which will further improve the already strong score of 90.6 %.
