Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,537 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,537 m of the 3,404 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 783 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the aircraft taxiing from the parking area to the runway at Nuremberg Airport, taking approximately 5 minutes to cover a distance of 1 nautical mile. The departure roll took place on runway 10, with the aircraft lifting off at a speed of 169 knots. The local weather conditions at the time of takeoff were characterized by a temperature of 13 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 15 knots at a direction of 70 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 7 knots and a headwind of 13 knots.
As the aircraft climbed away from the airport, it began its enroute climb, which started approximately 1 mile east of Nuremberg Airport. The climb took place from an altitude of 2,092 feet above sea level to a maximum altitude of 33,964 feet, an increase of 31,872 feet in 23 minutes, covering a distance of 129 nautical miles. The enroute level cruise phase began approximately 2 miles northwest of Stroheim, Austria, and lasted for 129 minutes, covering a distance of 926 nautical miles.
The enroute descent phase started approximately 2 miles east of Tavas, Turkey, and took place from an altitude of 33,892 feet to 2,885 feet, a decrease of 31,006 feet in 20 minutes, covering a distance of 88 nautical miles. The aircraft then entered another enroute level cruise phase, which started approximately 4 miles northeast of Beldibi, Turkey, and lasted for only 2 minutes, covering a distance of 4 nautical miles.
The final descent phase began approximately 6 miles north of the FC02 Antalya Static Carrier - CVN78, Turkey, and took place from an altitude of 2,804 feet to 1,461 feet, a decrease of 1,343 feet in 2 minutes, covering a distance of 5 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final approach to runway 36C at Antalya International Airport, flying from the south at a heading of 6.0 degrees and an altitude of 1,270 feet above ground level.
However, the aircraft was required to execute a go-around at an altitude of 847 feet above ground level due to unknown reasons. The aircraft then landed safely on runway 36C, which had a length of 3,404 meters. The touchdown point was 370 meters beyond the touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 142 knots, which was slightly fast. The touchdown rate was fair at -204 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 5.6 meters from the centerline.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 13 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 13 knots at a direction of 320 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 9 knots and a headwind of 9 knots. The total landing distance was 1,459 meters, which was 43% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was very good, and the aircraft was able to taxi to the parking area in 5 minutes, covering a distance of less than 1 nautical mile.
The total flight distance was 1,164 nautical miles, taking a total of 205 minutes, and the aircraft used 10,458 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A321 aircraft successfully landed at LTAI Antalya International Airport, but with some areas for improvement. The final approach was initiated from the south, heading 6.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,270 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft touched down on runway 36C, which has a length of 3,404 meters.
The threshold height at 68 feet agl was above the target, indicating that the aircraft was slightly higher than desired when reaching the runway threshold. Additionally, the threshold speed was well above the target at 155 knots, suggesting that the aircraft was descending at a faster rate than intended. The touchdown point was 370 meters beyond the touchdown zone, which may indicate a slight delay in the pilot's decision to touch down.
The touchdown speed of 142 knots was a little fast, which could have contributed to the aircraft's slightly misaligned runway touchdown position, being 5.6 meters off the centerline. However, the runway rollout alignment was very good, indicating that the aircraft's directional control was maintained during the rollout phase.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 13°C and a wind speed of 13 knots from 320°. The crosswind and headwind components were both 9 knots, which may have contributed to the aircraft's slightly misaligned touchdown position. Overall, the aircraft's landing performance was satisfactory, but there is room for improvement in terms of speed management and touchdown point accuracy. The total landing distance was 1,459 meters, which is 43% of the runway length.
