MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Smooth the climb
Pull to 15 degrees at one rate and you get a clean liftoff, pull to the same 15 degrees at twice the rate and you get an overshoot, a push, and an oscillation through the first few hundred feet. The type-general rule of thumb is a rotation rate of about 2 to 3 degrees per second, which means roughly five to seven seconds from starting the pull to reaching the initial climb attitude of around 15 degrees nose-up. Count it out loud during your next takeoff and you will almost certainly discover you have been rotating in two seconds flat.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,136 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 622 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a departure roll from runway 18 at VYHH Heho, where the aircraft, a TBM 850, accelerated to a liftoff speed of 96 kt. The takeoff distance was 802 meters, which accounted for 31% of the runway. The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 26 °C and a wind speed of 10 kt at 263 °, resulting in a 10 kt crosswind and a 1 kt headwind.
As the aircraft climbed out of VYHH Heho, it began its enroute climb 1 mile south of the airport, rising from 4,765 ft asl to 6,610 ft asl in just 1 minute, covering a distance of 3 nm. This was followed by a level cruise phase that lasted 3 minutes and covered 14 nm, starting 4 miles west of Nyaungshwe. The aircraft then began another climb phase 8 miles southeast of Taunggyi, increasing its altitude from 7,277 ft asl to 8,184 ft asl in 2 minutes, while covering 7 nm.
The flight continued with a series of level cruise and descent phases, with the aircraft cruising at various altitudes and speeds before beginning its descent into VYTL Tachileik Airport. The final approach to runway 22 was made from the north east, with the aircraft heading 217.0 ° at 4 nm and 1,240 ft agl. The landing was executed on runway 22, which had a length of 2,136 meters. The threshold speed was well above the target at 76 kt, and the touchdown point was 185 meters beyond the touchdown zone.
The touchdown speed was a little fast at 70 kt, but the touchdown rate was excellent at -66 fpm. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 3.9 meters from the centerline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 26 °C and a wind speed of 4 kt at 218 °, resulting in a 0 kt crosswind and a 4 kt headwind. The total landing distance was 785 meters, which accounted for 37% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was perfect.
The total flight distance was 190 nm, and the flight duration was 61 minutes. The aircraft used 175 kg of fuel during the flight. Overall, the flight was executed smoothly, with the aircraft performing well in various phases of flight.
The TBM 850 aircraft successfully landed at VYTL Tachileik Airport, achieving a high score of 98.0%. The final approach was conducted from the north east, heading 217.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,240 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft landed on runway 22, which has a length of 2,136 meters.
The threshold height was reported as good, and the threshold speed was well above the target at 76 knots. However, the touchdown point was 185 meters beyond the touchdown zone, indicating that the aircraft touched down slightly further down the runway than intended. The touchdown speed of 70 knots was a little fast, but the touchdown rate of -66 feet per minute (fpm) was excellent.
The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 3.9 meters from the centerline, which may have been due to a slight deviation in the approach or during the landing roll. The local weather conditions were favorable, with a temperature of 26°C and a wind speed of 4 knots at 218°. The crosswind component was negligible, while the headwind component was 4 knots, which may have contributed to the slightly fast touchdown speed.
The total landing distance was 785 meters, which is 37% of the runway length. This is a relatively short landing distance, indicating that the aircraft was well-controlled during the landing roll. The runway rollout alignment was perfect, with the aircraft maintaining a straight path along the centerline of the runway. Overall, the landing was successful, and the aircraft was well-handled throughout the approach and landing phases.
