Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,360 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 614 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the Honda HA420 taxiing from the parking area to the runway at Örebro Airport, taking approximately 5 minutes and covering less than 1 nautical mile. The departure roll took place on runway 19, with a takeoff distance of 661 meters, which is 25% of the runway length. The aircraft lifted off at a speed of 128 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of takeoff were characterized by a temperature of 0°C, with a wind speed of 16 knots from a direction of 230°. This resulted in a crosswind of 10 knots and a headwind of 13 knots. The aircraft began its enroute climb approximately 1 mile south of Örebro Airport, rising from an altitude of 971 feet above sea level to 35,711 feet above sea level, an increase of 34,739 feet, in 16 minutes and covering a distance of 68 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started 9 miles north of Fredriksberg, Sweden, and lasted for 32 minutes, covering a distance of 123 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent 18 miles northwest of Idre Airport, Sweden, descending from 35,567 feet above sea level to 1,530 feet above sea level, a decrease of 34,037 feet, in 24 minutes and covering a distance of 87 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 27 at Trondheim Airport, Værnes, was made from the east, with a heading of 270°, at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,482 feet above ground level. The landing took place on a runway with a length of 2,360 meters, and the threshold height was well above the target. The threshold speed was good at 114 knots, and the touchdown point was 236 meters beyond the touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 96 knots and a touchdown rate of -191 feet per minute.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 6°C, with a wind speed of 4 knots from a direction of 146°. This resulted in a crosswind of 4 knots and a tailwind of 2 knots. The total landing distance was 1,127 meters, which is 48% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was very good, and the taxiing to the parking area from the runway took approximately 2 minutes, covering less than 1 nautical mile.
The total flight distance was 285 nautical miles, taking a total of 73 minutes, and the aircraft used 513 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Honda HA420 aircraft successfully landed at ENVA Trondheim Airport, Værnes, with a score of 86.6%. The final approach to runway 27 was initiated from the east, heading 270.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,482 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft's approach was conducted in a manner that met the required standards, with a threshold speed of 114 knots being achieved, which is considered good.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's speed was 96 knots, which is also within the acceptable range. The touchdown rate of -191 feet per minute (fpm) was good, indicating a controlled descent. However, the touchdown point was 236 meters beyond the designated touchdown zone, which may indicate a slight deviation from the intended landing path.
The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 3.7 meters from the centerline, which may have been due to a minor deviation during the final approach. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 6°C and a wind speed of 4 knots at 146°. The crosswind component was 4 knots, while the tailwind component was 2 knots.
The total landing distance of 1,127 meters was 48% of the available runway length, which is a relatively short distance. The runway rollout alignment was very good, indicating that the aircraft's brakes were applied smoothly and effectively, allowing for a controlled deceleration. Overall, the landing was successful, but there were some minor deviations from the ideal approach and touchdown.
