Flight Score
Know your rotation speed
A typical trainer rotates in the mid-50s of knots - a 172 at around 55 KIAS, climbing out at a Vy in the low 70s, though check your own POH rather than memorising Cessna's numbers - and the transferable rule is that Vr sits just above the stall speed in takeoff configuration. Rotate early because "it felt ready" and the aircraft lifts off inside ground effect, where induced drag is reduced, then climbs out of it into more drag. On a marginal-performance day the result is an aircraft that lifts off and then refuses to climb, sagging back towards the runway.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 5,000 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,000 ft of the 7,491 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 1,592 ft touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 17 minutes and covered a distance of 3 nautical miles. The aircraft then departed from runway 35L at the Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport, KSDF. The takeoff distance was 4,288 feet, which accounted for 43% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 150 knots.
As the aircraft climbed to a higher altitude, it encountered local weather conditions with a temperature of 88°F and a wind speed of 0 knots at 32°. The aircraft then began its enroute climb from 1,514 feet above sea level to 39,174 feet above sea level, an increase of 37,660 feet in 18 minutes, covering a distance of 88 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started 2 miles south east of Owensville, Indiana, and lasted for 143 minutes, covering a distance of 1,227 nautical miles. The aircraft then began another enroute climb from 39,190 feet above sea level to 43,178 feet above sea level, an increase of 3,988 feet in 3 minutes, covering a distance of 28 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another enroute level cruise, starting 5 miles west of RC0 Rock Creek Airport Clinton, Montana, and lasting for 31 minutes, covering a distance of 264 nautical miles. As the aircraft continued its journey, it began its enroute descent from 43,061 feet above sea level to 12,018 feet above sea level, a decrease of 31,044 feet in 16 minutes, covering a distance of 110 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another enroute level cruise, starting 1 mile south of Marietta, Washington, and lasting for 5 minutes, covering a distance of 29 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final enroute descent from 11,984 feet above sea level to 1,265 feet above sea level, a decrease of 10,719 feet in 10 minutes, covering a distance of 12 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 13 at Vancouver International Airport, CYVR, was made from the north west, heading 139.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,245 feet above ground level. The landing was made on runway 13, which had a length of 7,491 feet. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was also good at 119 knots.
The touchdown point was 212 feet beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was 111 knots, which was a little fast. However, the touchdown rate was good at -173 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was very good. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of 73°F and a wind speed of 3 knots at 130°.
The total landing distance was 4,076 feet, which accounted for 54% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was also very good. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 3 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile.
In total, the flight distance was 1,767 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 242 minutes. The aircraft used 8,557 pounds of fuel during the flight.
Aircraft C750 successfully landed at Vancouver International Airport (CYVR) on runway 13, achieving a high score of 99.6%. The final approach was initiated from the northwest, heading 139.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,245 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft maintained a good threshold height, indicating a stable and controlled descent.
Upon touchdown, the threshold speed was recorded at 119 knots, which is within the acceptable range. However, the touchdown speed of 111 knots was slightly faster than desired, suggesting that the pilot may have been able to maintain a more controlled descent. The touchdown rate of -173 feet per minute (fpm) was considered good, indicating a relatively smooth and controlled landing.
The runway touchdown alignment was very good, indicating that the aircraft was properly aligned with the runway centerline at the moment of touchdown. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 73°F and a gentle headwind of 3 knots at 130°. The crosswind component was minimal, at 1 knot, which further contributed to a smooth landing.
The total landing distance of 4,076 feet was 54% of the available runway length, which is a relatively short distance considering the aircraft's size and weight. The runway rollout alignment was also very good, indicating that the pilot maintained control of the aircraft during the rollout phase and was able to bring the aircraft to a stop in a safe and controlled manner.
Overall, the landing of aircraft C750 at CYVR was a successful one, with the pilot demonstrating good control and decision-making skills throughout the approach and landing phases.
