Maintain the centreline
A small uncorrected heading error at 40 knots becomes a metre of offset per second by 100 knots, noticed only at rotation, producing a crabbed liftoff. Root cause is nearly always eyes on the tape instead of the far end of the runway. Small heading changes displace a distant point visibly long before the nearby centreline stripes look wrong.

The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 11 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The aircraft, an Airbus A321, then departed from runway 16 at UBBB Heydar Aliyev International Airport. The takeoff distance was 6,781 feet, which accounted for 52% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 179 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 97 degrees Fahrenheit and a wind speed of 6 knots at 140 degrees. The crosswind was 3 knots, while the headwind was 5 knots. With these conditions in mind, the aircraft began its enroute climb, starting 1 mile north of Yeni Suraxani, a suburb of Baku City, Azerbaijan. The climb took 21 minutes and covered a distance of 125 nautical miles, during which the aircraft ascended from 1,085 feet above sea level to 33,911 feet.
Following the enroute climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started 10 miles northwest of Agdzhabedi, a town in the Aghjabadi Rayon of Azerbaijan. This phase lasted for 101 minutes and covered a distance of 691 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, starting 18 miles northwest of Mut, a town in Mersin, Turkey. The descent took 18 minutes and covered a distance of 101 nautical miles, during which the aircraft descended from 33,123 feet above sea level to 2,966 feet.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, which started 2 miles west of Serik, a town in Antalya, Turkey. This phase lasted for 10 minutes and covered a distance of 13 nautical miles. The final approach to runway 18C at LTAI Antalya International Airport was made from the north, with the aircraft heading 188.0 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 1,265 feet above ground level.
The landing on runway 18C was successful, with the aircraft touching down at a speed of 133 knots and a touchdown rate of -123 feet per minute. The touchdown distance was 1,512 feet, which was 48% of the runway length. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 12 feet from the centerline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 86 degrees Fahrenheit and a wind speed of 5 knots at 129 degrees. The crosswind was 4 knots, while the headwind was 3 knots.
The total landing distance was 5,311 feet, and the runway rollout alignment was very good. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 2 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 940 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 165 minutes. The aircraft used 14,044 pounds of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A321 successfully landed at LTAI Antalya International Airport, achieving a high score of 99.3%. The aircraft was approaching the runway from the north, heading 188.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,265 feet above ground level (agl). The final approach was executed smoothly, with a good threshold height and a threshold speed of 138 knots.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft performed well, with a touchdown speed of 133 knots and a smooth touchdown rate of -123 feet per minute (fpm). The touchdown distance was also within acceptable limits at 1,512 feet. However, there was a slight deviation from the centerline, with the runway touchdown position being 12 feet off-center.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 86°F and a gentle wind of 5 knots at 129°. The crosswind component was 4 knots, while the headwind component was 3 knots. These conditions did not appear to have any significant impact on the landing.
The total landing distance was 5,311 feet, which is approximately 48% of the runway length. This is a relatively short landing distance, indicating that the aircraft was able to touch down and come to a stop within a reasonable distance. The runway rollout alignment was also very good, suggesting that the pilot was able to maintain control of the aircraft during the rollout phase.
Overall, the landing was executed well, with the aircraft performing within acceptable limits in terms of speed, distance, and alignment. The slight deviation from the centerline was the only notable issue, but it did not appear to have any significant impact on the safety of the landing.
