Departure
Reduce climb power to bring speed back to 169 kt and hold it there.
What happened: Climb speed was 34 kt fast at 203 kt during the climb.
Watch for: Airspeed indicator: 169 kt in the climb
Arrival
Add power on final to hold 123 kt across the threshold.
What happened: The aircraft crossed the threshold at 112 kt, 11 kt below VREF, and low energy like this usually carries through to a firm touchdown at 297 fpm.
Watch for: Airspeed indicator: 123 kt at the threshold
Every knot above Vref is stored kinetic energy, and energy stored at the threshold must be dissipated in ground effect before the aeroplane will stop flying. Because kinetic energy scales with the square of speed, the excess you must dissipate grows fast. At a 45-knot approach, five knots hot is over a tenth more speed and roughly a quarter more energy to get rid of in ground effect. This is why the fix is never in the flare. It was decided three miles earlier, on final, at the airspeed indicator.

4 landings
The flight is kept as it was recorded: it ends when the engine is shut down, so a landing with the rotors turning is a stop along the way, not a new flight.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with six checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway. They are the approach's score: the checks passed out of the checks that ran.
At the 1,000 ft gate: speed 41 kt FAST on the reference speed of 123 kt.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 5,000 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,000 ft of the 12,766 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 45 ft short of the threshold. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The Cessna 750 Citation X taxied to runway 19 at KSGU St George Regional Airport and commenced the departure roll, achieving a takeoff distance of 3,519 ft (38 % of the runway) and lifting off at 142 kt. Local conditions were 62 °F with a wind of 2 kt from 269°, a 2 kt cross-wind component and a 1 kt head-wind component.
Climb began approximately 1 nm south of KSGU, with the aircraft ascending from 3,667 ft asl to 20,012 ft asl - a gain of 16,345 ft - over 7 minutes while covering 42 nm.
Level cruise was established 14 nm south of Cane Beds, Arizona, and persisted for 33 minutes during which 267 nm were flown.
Descent was initiated 10 nm north of NM74 Cubero Airport, New Mexico, descending from 19,614 ft asl to 6,574 ft asl - a loss of 13,040 ft - in 9 minutes and traversing 49 nm.
The final approach to runway 08 at KABQ Albuquerque International Sunport reduced altitude from 1,279 ft agl to 60 ft agl in 83 seconds, and the aircraft scored on the stabilisation gates.
Landing on runway 08 was executed with a threshold speed of 112 kt (slightly below target) and a touchdown speed of 103 kt. Touchdown occurred 1,351 ft down the runway with a rate of -298 fpm; the touchdown point was 28 ft off the centreline. Local weather reported 59 °F, wind 2 kt from 270°, no cross-wind and a 2 kt tail-wind component. The total landing distance measured 3,228 ft (25 % of the runway).
During rollout the aircraft remained slightly misaligned, ending 33 ft from the centreline before exiting the runway.
Taxi-in to the parking area required 1 minute and covered less than 1 nm.
In total the flight covered 365 nm, took 54 minutes, and consumed 172 lbs of fuel.
The final approach to runway 08 at KABQ was assessed as unstable at the 1,000 ft gate, with the aircraft more than 20 kt above VREF, and the descent from 1,279 ft agl to 60 ft agl was completed in 83 seconds, resulting in a stabilisation-gate score.
During the threshold and flare segment the aircraft maintained a good threshold height and the threshold speed was slightly below the target at 112 kt.
Touchdown occurred 1,351 ft down the runway at a speed of 103 kt, which was rated good, while the vertical rate was fair at minus 298 fpm; the touchdown point was misaligned by 28 ft from the centreline.
The rollout covered a total distance of 3,228 ft, representing 25 % of the 12,766-ft runway, and the aircraft was slightly misaligned by 33 ft from the centreline during rollout.
Future flights should focus on achieving a stabilized approach within the VREF envelope and on maintaining centreline alignment through touchdown and rollout to reduce lateral deviations.
