Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 5,000 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,000 ft of the 7,975 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 2,209 ft past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 8 minutes and covered a distance of 1 nautical mile. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-700, then departed from runway 20C at KBNA Nashville International Airport. The takeoff distance was 3,886 feet, which accounted for 49% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 145 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 67°F and a wind speed of 6 knots from a direction of 189°. This resulted in a crosswind of 1 knot and a headwind of 6 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, starting 1 mile south of KBNA Nashville International Airport and ascending from an altitude of 1,568 feet above sea level to 40,897 feet above sea level, an increase of 39,329 feet in 19 minutes and covering a distance of 127 nautical miles.
Following the enroute climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started 5 miles west of Rome, Georgia, and lasted for 50 minutes. During this period, the aircraft covered a distance of 408 nautical miles. The enroute descent then began 4 miles northeast of Titusville, Florida, and the aircraft descended from an altitude of 41,119 feet above sea level to 4,566 feet above sea level, a decrease of 36,554 feet in 16 minutes and covering a distance of 109 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, which started 4 miles east of Jupiter Inlet Beach Colony, Florida, and lasted for 7 minutes. During this period, the aircraft covered a distance of 24 nautical miles. The enroute descent then began 6 miles southwest of The Acreage, Florida, and the aircraft descended from an altitude of 3,231 feet above sea level to 1,289 feet above sea level, a decrease of 1,941 feet in 5 minutes and covering a distance of 12 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 10L at KPBI Palm Beach International Airport was made from the west, with the aircraft heading 93.0° at an altitude of 4 nautical miles and 1,267 feet above ground level. The landing was made on runway 10L, which had a length of 7,975 feet. The threshold height at 57 feet above ground level was slightly above the target, while the threshold speed was well above the target at 134 knots.
The touchdown point was 840 feet beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was 126 knots, which was a little fast. However, the touchdown rate was smooth at -147 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was perfect. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 72°F and a wind speed of 2 knots from a direction of 90°, resulting in a crosswind of 0 knots and a headwind of 2 knots.
The total landing distance was 4,067 feet, which accounted for 51% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was very good. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 6 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 688 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 115 minutes. The aircraft used a total of 8,286 pounds of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 737-700 aircraft successfully landed at KPBI Palm Beach International Airport, achieving a score of 95.0%. The final approach to runway 10L was initiated from the west, with a heading of 93.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,267 feet above ground level (agl).
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down 840 feet beyond the designated touchdown zone, which is slightly outside the target area. The touchdown speed of 126 knots was a bit faster than the target speed, indicating that the pilot may have needed to apply more braking force to bring the aircraft to a stop within the designated area. However, the touchdown rate of -147 feet per minute (fpm) was smooth, indicating a controlled descent.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 72°F and a gentle headwind of 2 knots from a direction of 90°. The crosswind component was negligible, at 0 knots. The runway length of 7,975 feet was sufficient to accommodate the aircraft's landing distance, which was 4,067 feet, or 51% of the runway length.
The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, indicating that the pilot had successfully aligned the aircraft with the runway centerline. The runway rollout alignment was also very good, suggesting that the pilot had maintained control of the aircraft during the rollout phase. Overall, the landing was successful, with the aircraft coming to a stop within a reasonable distance from the runway threshold.
