MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,250 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 133 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 5 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The aircraft, an Airbus A320, then departed from runway 15R at ORBI Baghdad International Airport / New Al Muthana Air Base. The takeoff distance was 1,059 meters, which accounted for 32% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 154 knots.
As the aircraft took off, it encountered local weather conditions with a temperature of 16°C and a wind speed of 4 knots at 230 degrees. The crosswind was 4 knots, and the headwind was 1 knot. After departing from Baghdad, the enroute climb started 2 miles south of the airport, where the aircraft climbed from 1,150 feet above sea level to 37,414 feet above sea level, an increase of 36,264 feet in 18 minutes, covering a distance of 95 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise began 25 miles south of ORAA Al Asad Air Base Hīt, and it lasted for 33 minutes, covering a distance of 223 nautical miles. The aircraft then started its enroute descent 36 miles east of OS68 Saiqal Air Base Saiqal, where it descended from 37,001 feet above sea level to 1,312 feet above sea level, a decrease of 35,689 feet in 32 minutes, covering a distance of 124 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 03 at OLBA Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport was made from the southwest, heading 32.0 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 1,248 feet above ground level. The landing on runway 03 was successful, with a touchdown distance of 127 meters, which was 36% of the runway length. The touchdown speed was 120 knots, and the touchdown rate was very heavy at -747 feet per minute.
However, the runway touchdown position was excessively misaligned by 32.0 meters from the centreline, and the runway rollout alignment was significantly misaligned by 31.4 meters from the centreline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of 13°C and a wind speed of 4 knots at 105 degrees, with a crosswind of 4 knots and a headwind of 1 knot.
The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 3 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 450 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 93 minutes. The aircraft used 3,325 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A320 aircraft successfully landed on runway 03 at OLBA Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport, achieving a score of 75.4%. The final approach was initiated from the southwest, heading 32.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,248 feet above ground level (agl).
The aircraft touched down on the runway with a good threshold height, and the threshold speed was also satisfactory at 127 knots. The touchdown distance was within acceptable limits at 127 meters. However, the touchdown speed of 120 knots was slightly below the expected value, but still considered good. The touchdown rate was notably heavy at -747 feet per minute (fpm), which may indicate a slightly aggressive approach.
The runway touchdown position was excessively misaligned by 32.0 meters from the centerline, which could have been a result of the pilot's judgment or the aircraft's navigation system. The local weather conditions were relatively calm, with a temperature of 13°C, a wind speed of 4 knots at 105°, and a crosswind of 4 knots and a headwind of 1 knot.
The total landing distance was 800 meters, which accounted for 36% of the runway length. This is a relatively short landing distance, indicating that the aircraft was able to touch down and stop within a reasonable distance. However, the runway rollout alignment was significantly misaligned by 31.4 meters from the centerline, which could have been a result of the pilot's difficulty in maintaining alignment during the rollout phase.
Overall, the landing was considered satisfactory, but there were some areas for improvement, particularly in terms of touchdown rate and runway alignment.
