Improve the takeoff
A typical trainer rotates in the mid-50s of knots - a 172 at around 55 KIAS, climbing out at a Vy in the low 70s, though check your own POH rather than memorising Cessna's numbers - and the transferable rule is that Vr sits just above the stall speed in takeoff configuration. Rotate early because "it felt ready" and the aircraft lifts off inside ground effect, where induced drag is reduced, then climbs out of it into more drag. On a marginal-performance day the result is an aircraft that lifts off and then refuses to climb, sagging back towards the runway.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,588 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 453 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking area to the runway, which took approximately 3 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The aircraft, a Cessna C172, then departed from runway 26 at DAOB Abdelhafid Boussouf Bou Chekif Airport. The takeoff distance was 373 meters, which accounted for 12% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 54 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of takeoff were characterized by a temperature of 9 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 15 knots from a direction of 205 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 12 knots and a headwind of 9 knots. The aircraft began its enroute climb 1 mile west of DAOB Abdelhafid Boussouf Bou Chekif Airport, Tiaret, and climbed from an altitude of 4,269 feet above sea level to 5,178 feet above sea level, an increase of 909 feet, in 2 minutes and covering 2 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started 3 miles south east of Tiaret and lasted for 23 minutes, covering a distance of 131 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent 3 miles south west of Bensekrane, descending from an altitude of 4,785 feet above sea level to 2,242 feet above sea level, a decrease of 2,544 feet, in 4 minutes and covering 5 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 25 at DAON Zenata – Messali El Hadj Airport was made from the east, heading 250 degrees, at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,427 feet above ground level. The landing on runway 25 was successful, with a touchdown distance of 451 meters, which was 22% of the runway length. The touchdown speed was slightly above the target speed at 66 knots, but the touchdown rate was smooth at -140 feet per minute. The runway touchdown alignment was very good.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 13 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 14 knots from a direction of 250 degrees, resulting in a headwind of 14 knots and no crosswind. The total landing distance was 582 meters, and the runway rollout alignment was perfect. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking area took approximately 1 minute and covered less than 1 nautical mile.
The total flight distance was 146 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 40 minutes. The aircraft used 26 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Cessna C172 aircraft successfully landed at DAON Zenata – Messali El Hadj Airport, achieving a score of 98.1%. The final approach to runway 25 was conducted from the east, heading 250.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,427 feet above ground level.
The aircraft touched down on the runway with a good threshold height, indicating a precise and controlled descent. However, the threshold speed was slightly below the target speed of 66 knots, suggesting that the pilot may have been slightly cautious in their approach. The touchdown distance of 451 meters was within acceptable limits, demonstrating a smooth and controlled landing.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's speed was recorded at 58 knots, which was a little faster than the ideal speed. Nevertheless, the touchdown rate of -140 feet per minute was smooth, indicating a well-executed landing. The runway touchdown alignment was very good, signifying that the pilot maintained a stable and controlled approach.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 13°C and a headwind of 14 knots at 250°. The crosswind component was negligible, at 0 knots. The total landing distance of 582 meters was only 22% of the runway length, demonstrating a high degree of control and precision in the landing.
During the rollout, the aircraft maintained perfect alignment with the runway, indicating a smooth and controlled deceleration. Overall, the landing was a success, with the pilot demonstrating a high level of skill and precision in executing a safe and controlled touchdown.
