Monitor your taxi speed
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with six checks at 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway. They are the approach's score: the checks passed out of the checks that ran.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,406 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 262 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The Airbus A320-ceo taxied from the parking area to runway 34R at OTHH Hamad International Airport in 14 minutes, covering 7 nm.
During the departure roll on runway 34R, the aircraft used 2,498 m of runway, representing 51 % of the available length, and lifted off at 169 kt; ambient temperature was 33 °C with a wind of 6 kt from 300°, including a 3 kt cross-wind and a 4 kt head-wind component.
The initial climb began 1 mile north of OTHH, climbing from 1,038 ft asl to 4,273 ft asl, an altitude gain of 3,235 ft achieved in 3 minutes while covering 11 nm.
A short level cruise commenced 11 nm south-east of OTBK Al Khawr Airport, lasting 2 minutes and spanning 7 nm.
A second climb started 8 nm east of OTBK, raising the aircraft from 4,407 ft asl to 31,093 ft asl, an increase of 26,686 ft in 16 minutes over a distance of 106 nm.
The next cruise segment began 4 nm south of Sayhat in Saudi Arabia, persisting for 156 minutes and covering 1,170 nm.
Descent phase one originated 13 nm south of Side, Turkey, descending from 29,459 ft asl to 13,250 ft asl, a loss of 16,208 ft in 10 minutes while traveling 65 nm.
A brief level cruise followed 13 nm south-west of Yenisarbademli, lasting 7 minutes and encompassing 31 nm.
Descent phase two began 13 nm north of Serik, dropping from 12,989 ft asl to 11,404 ft asl, a reduction of 1,586 ft in 2 minutes across 8 nm.
The subsequent cruise segment started 10 nm south-east of Kocaaliler, lasting 3 minutes and covering 16 nm.
Descent phase three was initiated 7 nm north-west of LTXE Karain Airport, descending from 11,039 ft asl to 2,173 ft asl, a decrease of 8,866 ft in 10 minutes over 43 nm.
A final level cruise began 1 nm north-west of FC02 Antalya Static Carrier - CVN78, lasting 3 minutes and spanning 10 nm.
On final approach to runway 36R at LTAI Antalya International Airport, the aircraft descended from 1,321 ft agl to 48 ft agl in 101 seconds, meeting the stabilisation gate criteria.
Landing on runway 36R, which is 3,406 m long, was executed with a threshold speed of 136 kt; touchdown occurred 262 m from the threshold at 131 kt, with a touchdown rate of minus 279 fpm and perfect runway-centerline alignment, while local conditions were 22 °C, wind 8 kt from 330°, 5 kt cross-wind and 6 kt head-wind.
The rollout distance measured 1,023 m, representing 30 % of the runway, and alignment during rollout was recorded as very good.
The aircraft taxied from the runway to the parking area in 6 minutes, covering less than 1 nm.
In total, the flight covered 1,481 nm, lasted 229 minutes, and consumed 9,384 kg of fuel.
The Airbus A320ceo conducted the final approach to runway 36R at LTAI Antalya International Airport and was assessed as stabilised at the 1,000 ft gate, with gear, flaps, sink rate, glideslope, centreline and speed all within limits. The aircraft descended from 1,321 ft agl to 48 ft agl in 101 seconds while maintaining the required parameters.
At the threshold the height was good and the threshold speed was good at 136 kt. The flare was executed in line with the approach profile, setting up the aircraft for touchdown.
Touchdown occurred 262 m down the runway with a speed of 131 kt, noted as a little fast, and a touchdown rate rated fair at minus 279 fpm. Runway touchdown alignment was perfect.
The total landing distance was 1,023 m, representing 30 % of the 3,406 m runway, and the rollout alignment was very good.
To refine the already strong performance, a slight reduction in touchdown speed would bring the aircraft closer to the optimal VREF, and a smoother flare could improve the touchdown rate from fair toward excellent.
