MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Know your rotation speed
A typical trainer rotates in the mid-50s of knots - a 172 at around 55 KIAS, climbing out at a Vy in the low 70s, though check your own POH rather than memorising Cessna's numbers - and the transferable rule is that Vr sits just above the stall speed in takeoff configuration. Rotate early because "it felt ready" and the aircraft lifts off inside ground effect, where induced drag is reduced, then climbs out of it into more drag. On a marginal-performance day the result is an aircraft that lifts off and then refuses to climb, sagging back towards the runway.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 602 m of the approach.
Plan view — the full 602 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 130 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight in the Sirius aircraft commenced with a smooth departure roll on runway 21 at EDYW Wildberg. The takeoff distance was 123 meters, which accounted for 33% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 43 knots. The local weather at the time of departure was recorded at 11°C with a 4-knot wind coming from 313°. There was a slight crosswind of 4 knots and a tailwind of 1 knot.
As the aircraft progressed enroute, the climb began overhead Lindau in Bavaria, Germany. The climb involved ascending from 2,311 feet above sea level to 2,347 feet above sea level. This marked an increase of 35 feet in under a minute, covering less than 1 nautical mile.
Following the climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase also starting over Lindau, which lasted 2 minutes and covered a total distance of 4 nautical miles.
The landing phase of the flight occurred on runway 05 at LOIH Hohenems-Dornbirn Airfield, which had a runway length of 602 meters. At the threshold, the aircraft was at a height of 13 feet above ground level and was traveling at a speed of 57 knots. The touchdown occurred 129 meters from the threshold at a speed of 52 knots with a Vertical Speed Indicator reading of -174 feet per minute. The local weather at the time of landing was noted at 15°C with a 2-knot wind coming from 270°. There was a minimal crosswind of 1 knot and a tailwind of 1 knot.
The total landing distance covered was 326 meters, which equated to 54% of the runway length at the airfield. After touchdown, the taxiing from the runway to the parking area took less than a minute and covered less than 1 nautical mile.
In summary, the total flight distance covered was 15 nautical miles, with a duration of 1,605 minutes. The Sirius aircraft utilized 2 kg of fuel during this flight.
