Improve the rollout
A crosswind landing is a geometry problem. The air mass you're flying in is moving sideways across the runway, and you need your ground track down the centreline with your wheels aligned to it at the moment of contact. There are two techniques that will help, the crab and the sideslip.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,142 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 352 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the RJ85 CityJet aircraft taxiing from the parking to the runway at Lyon Saint-Exupéry Airport, taking 12 minutes and covering a distance of 4 nautical miles. The departure roll took place on runway 17R, with a takeoff distance of 1,008 meters, which is 25% of the runway length. The aircraft lifted off at a speed of 135 knots.
As the aircraft climbed to a higher altitude, it encountered local weather conditions of 6°C temperature and a wind speed of 7 knots at 150°. The crosswind was 3 knots, while the headwind was 7 knots. The enroute climb started overhead the airport, with the aircraft ascending from 1,808 feet above sea level to 30,536 feet above sea level, an increase of 28,728 feet in 23 minutes, covering a distance of 147 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise began 1 mile west of Occimiano, Italy, and lasted for 44 minutes, covering a distance of 345 nautical miles. The aircraft then started its enroute descent from 30,259 feet above sea level to 4,376 feet above sea level, a decrease of 25,883 feet in 18 minutes, covering a distance of 89 nautical miles. This was followed by a brief enroute level cruise, which started 17 miles southwest of Orasac, Croatia, and lasted for 4 minutes, covering a distance of 14 nautical miles.
The aircraft then began its final descent, starting 7 miles southwest of Cavtat, Croatia. It descended from 4,032 feet above sea level to 3,314 feet above sea level, a decrease of 718 feet in 2 minutes, covering a distance of 7 nautical miles. The enroute level cruise started 7 miles south of Cilipi, Croatia, and lasted for 2 minutes, covering a distance of 6 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final descent, starting 3 miles south of Gruda, Croatia. It descended from 2,795 feet above sea level to 1,968 feet above sea level, a decrease of 827 feet in 2 minutes, covering a distance of 4 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 29 at Dubrovnik Ruđer Bošković Airport was made from the southeast, heading 297.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,455 feet above ground level. The landing took place on runway 29, which has a length of 3,142 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was slightly below the target at 104 knots. The touchdown distance was good at 350 meters, and the touchdown speed was 95 knots, which was good. The touchdown rate was also good at -160 feet per minute.
The runway touchdown position was misaligned by 9.6 meters from the centreline, and the runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 8.2 meters from the centreline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 10°C temperature and a wind speed of 7 knots at 20°. The crosswind was 7 knots, while the headwind was 1 knot. The total landing distance was 836 meters, which is 27% of the runway length.
After landing, the aircraft taxiied to the parking from the runway, taking 3 minutes and covering a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 622 nautical miles, taking 110 minutes, and the aircraft used 3,657 kilograms of fuel.
The aircraft, a Just Flight RJ85 CityJet, successfully landed at LDDU Dubrovnik Ruđer Bošković Airport, achieving a score of 95.7%. The final approach to runway 29 was conducted from the south east, with a heading of 297.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,455 feet above ground level.
The landing was executed with good threshold height, indicating that the aircraft was properly configured for landing. However, the threshold speed was slightly below the target speed of 104 knots, which may have been due to the aircraft's descent rate or the pilot's decision to flare earlier than expected. Despite this, the touchdown distance of 350 meters was considered good, and the touchdown speed of 95 knots was also within acceptable limits.
The touchdown rate of -160 feet per minute was also good, indicating that the aircraft was able to absorb the impact of touchdown smoothly. However, the runway touchdown position was misaligned by 9.6 meters from the centreline, which may have been due to a slight deviation in the aircraft's alignment during the final approach.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 10°C and a wind speed of 7 knots from a direction of 20°. This resulted in a crosswind component of 7 knots and a headwind component of 1 knot. Despite these conditions, the pilot was able to maintain control of the aircraft and execute a safe landing.
The total landing distance of 836 meters was 27% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance. However, the runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 8.2 meters from the centreline, which may have been due to a slight deviation in the aircraft's alignment during the rollout phase. Overall, the landing was considered safe and successful, with the aircraft coming to a stop within a reasonable distance from the runway threshold.
