MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,591 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 549 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a departure roll from runway 12 at Cardiff International Airport, EGFF. The Airbus A350-1000 took off with a takeoff distance of 776 meters, which was 39% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 150 knots. At the time of departure, the local weather conditions were a temperature of 16 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 1 knot from 270 degrees. There was no crosswind, but a slight tailwind of 1 knot.
As the aircraft climbed, it started its enroute climb 1 mile east of Rhoose, in the Vale of Glamorgan, Wales. The climb took the aircraft from an altitude of 1,095 feet above sea level to 13,005 feet above sea level, an increase of 11,909 feet in just 5 minutes, covering a distance of 17 nautical miles. The enroute level cruise then started 2 miles south east of Newport, in Wales, and lasted for 5 minutes, covering a distance of 27 nautical miles.
The enroute descent began overhead Biddestone, in Wiltshire, England, where the aircraft descended from 13,002 feet above sea level to 7,005 feet above sea level, a decrease of 5,997 feet in 7 minutes, covering a distance of 36 nautical miles. The enroute level cruise then started again overhead Kingsclere, in Hampshire, England, and lasted for 3 minutes, covering a distance of 16 nautical miles.
The final descent began 1 mile north east of Fleet, in Hampshire, England, where the aircraft descended from 6,726 feet above sea level to 1,362 feet above sea level, a decrease of 5,364 feet in 7 minutes, covering a distance of 13 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final approach to runway 09L at London Heathrow Airport, EGLL, from the west, heading 90 degrees at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,276 feet above ground level.
The landing on runway 09L at EGLL was completed with a touchdown point 130 meters beyond the touchdown zone. The touchdown speed was slightly above target at 127 knots, and the touchdown rate was hard at -412 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 5.8 meters from the centreline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of 15 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 1 knot from 270 degrees. There was no crosswind, but a slight tailwind of 1 knot.
The total landing distance was 1,428 meters, which was 40% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 12.7 meters from the centreline. The taxiing to the parking from the runway took 1 minute and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 115 nautical miles, taking 31 minutes, and the aircraft used 5,004 kilograms of fuel.
The Airbus A350-1000 successfully landed on runway 09L at EGLL London Heathrow Airport, achieving an overall score of 87.1%. The aircraft approached the runway from the west, heading 90.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,276 feet above ground level (agl). The landing was conducted on a runway with a length of 3,591 meters.
Upon reaching the threshold, the aircraft's height was slightly above the target at 58 feet agl, while the threshold speed was also slightly above the target at 127 knots. The touchdown point was located 130 meters beyond the designated touchdown zone, indicating a slight deviation from the intended landing spot. The touchdown speed of 127 knots was slightly faster than desired, and the touchdown rate was hard at -412 feet per minute (fpm).
In terms of alignment, the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 5.8 meters from the centerline, and the runway rollout alignment was also slightly misaligned by 12.7 meters from the centerline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 15°C, with a wind speed of 1 knot from 270°. The crosswind component was negligible, while the tailwind component was 1 knot.
The total landing distance covered by the aircraft was 1,428 meters, which accounted for approximately 40% of the runway length. Overall, while the landing was successful, there were some minor deviations from the desired parameters, including a slightly fast touchdown speed and hard touchdown rate, as well as some misalignment issues during rollout.
