Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 152 m above the runway. The 305 m gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,553 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 176 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The 2.59 G arrival is the firm side of smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the Airbus A320 taxiing from the parking area to the runway at Princess Juliana International Airport, taking approximately 2 minutes to cover less than 1 nautical mile. The departure roll took place on runway 10, with the aircraft lifting off at a speed of 156 knots. The local weather conditions at the time of takeoff were characterized by a temperature of 29 degrees Celsius.
As the aircraft climbed to a higher altitude, it began its enroute climb, starting 1 mile south of Marigot. The climb took 7 minutes to cover a distance of 31 nautical miles, with the aircraft rising from an altitude of 289 meters above sea level to 4,943 meters. This represented an increase of 4,654.1 meters in altitude.
Following the enroute climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which lasted for 5 minutes and covered a distance of 33 nautical miles. This phase began 6 miles northeast of F. D. Roosevelt Airport on the island of Sint Eustatius.
As the aircraft continued its journey, it began its enroute descent, starting 3 miles south of Market Shop on the island of Saint Kitts and Nevis. The descent took 17 minutes to cover a distance of 73 nautical miles, with the aircraft dropping from an altitude of 5,182 meters above sea level to 388 meters.
The final approach to runway 12 at Pointe-à-Pitre Le Raizet International Airport was made from the west, with the aircraft heading at an angle of 101.0 degrees. The aircraft was at an altitude of 380 meters above ground level and 4 nautical miles from the runway at this point.
The landing on runway 12 took place at a speed of 131 knots, which was slightly below the target threshold speed. The touchdown distance was good, covering a distance of 175 meters. However, the touchdown rate was very heavy, at -4.1 meters per second. Additionally, the runway touchdown position was misaligned by 11.2 meters from the centerline.
Following the landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, taking approximately 4 minutes to cover less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 143 nautical miles, taking a total of 39 minutes to complete. The aircraft used 1,367 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A320 aircraft successfully landed at TFFR Pointe-à-Pitre Le Raizet International Airport, with a final approach from the west. The aircraft was at an altitude of 380.0 meters above ground level (agl) and 4 nautical miles from the runway when it began its descent. The heading was 101.0 degrees, which is aligned with the runway 12 approach path.
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down on the runway with a speed of 131 knots, which was slightly below the target threshold speed. The touchdown distance was 175 meters, which is considered good. However, the touchdown rate was very heavy at -4.1 meters per second, indicating a rapid deceleration upon touchdown.
The runway touchdown position was misaligned by 11.2 meters from the centerline, which may have been due to a slight deviation in the aircraft's approach path or a miscalculation of the runway alignment. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were hot, with a temperature of 30 degrees Celsius.
The total landing distance was 1,204 meters, which is 47% of the runway length. This is a relatively short landing distance, indicating that the aircraft was able to touch down and come to a stop within a reasonable distance. However, the runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 9.8 meters from the centerline, which may have been due to a slight deviation in the aircraft's rollout path or a miscalculation of the runway alignment.
Overall, the landing was successful, but there were some minor deviations from the ideal approach and landing path. These deviations were likely due to a combination of factors, including weather conditions, aircraft performance, and pilot error. However, the aircraft was able to touch down safely and come to a stop within a reasonable distance, indicating that the pilots were able to recover from any deviations and maintain control of the aircraft.
